They finished dividing the eggs.
Baimu prepared to leave.
"How long will it take you to finish the machine?" he asked James, who still looked reluctant to stop.
James snapped back to his senses and rubbed his chin. "Three days... No, two will do. Why? Thinking of leaving? I'd give up now if I were you. Bewear's still awake!"
The runaway rich kid chuckled.
Jessie wiped her mouth. "Bewear doesn't stay in its den all the time. You could wait until she goes out."
"Jessie!" James stared at her in surprise.
He couldn't understand why his companion was being so helpful today.
Jessie pulled him aside and whispered, "Idiot! Our Secret Base is right above the den! Do you want him finding it?"
"You're right!" James said, finally catching on.
The two began plotting Baimu's "escape." Meowth and Wobbuffet soon joined in.
Baimu smiled without a word. As the Team Rocket trio stared in disbelief, he walked straight up to Bewear. "I'm leaving. I'll come see you again."
Just like that!?
The Team Rocket trio gaped. What nerve! As if Bewear would agree!
And sure enough...
"Coo-coo!"
Bewear suddenly reached out a pink paw, apparently intending to tuck him under her arm and carry him back to the den.
Baimu stepped back in a flash, beyond her reach.
Her paw closed on empty air.
Bewear paused for half a second, then stepped forward to grab him again. Baimu retreated once more, moving as though he had eyes in the back of his head, utterly unhampered by the terrain.
She advanced and he retreated, each moving faster than before.
Bewear's sweeping paws stirred whooshes of wind, moving so fast they became blurs. Baimu made no such rapid movements. Small shifts of his upper body were enough to evade her grasp.
The
