On the fifteenth day!

Lin En felt like he was already turning into a walking corpse!

Damn it. I should turn into a zombie right here and bite those Chaos Cultists to death when I turn back.

Those Chaos Cultists had been chasing him for fifteen days and still had no intention of giving up. Just how deep was their grudge??? He had only stolen some of their food--??????

He was furious.

The Chaos Cultists could take shifts, and they had already switched several times. He had been running alone and was practically dying with his eyes open.

Whenever Cecilia wasn't back, he harassed the system. In any case, he absolutely refused to be left alone to wallow in emo misery.

As he ran, Lin En said inwardly, "Bro System, it's the fifteenth day."

The system said:

[Yes.]

"Are these Chaos Cultists not planning to give up?"

[Yes.]

"Are they really going to keep chasing me like this???"

[Yes.]

"...Do you only know how to say yes?"

[Yes.]

Lin En: "I wake up one day and the system's intelligence has dropped a hundredfold."

Lin En: "My mentality is collapsing."

He stopped running.

The system was instantly horrified:

[What are you doing? Don't give up! Keep going!! Keep going!!!]

"Adding three exclamation marks won't help!"

Lin En continued running.

He was already used to things like marathons.

But today's situation was a little different.

As he ran, a warning suddenly flashed through his mind.

"Ding ding ding ding ding--"

It was extremely intense and very distant, as though it had come from the end of the passage, but the hostility wasn't directed at him.

The warning was strange. It pointed in a direction different from the one the Chaos Cultists were chasing him from, toward the front in the complete opposite direction.

The front? What was up ahead?

Before Lin En had time to think it through, a tremendous "Rumble--!!!" came from the direction of the passage's end.

Holy crap! Lin En stopped in alarm and uncertainty.

Some kind of heavy machinery smashed into the rocks. The entire passage shook, and loose stones came cascading down from above.

Lin En hurriedly hugged his head and crouched to avoid the falling rocks, but, incredibly, one fist-sized stone smashed into his back, making him howl, "Ow!"

The Chaos Cultists stopped too. They all found cover and poked their heads out, looking toward the source of the sound with a mixture of fear and alarm.

Bright blue electrical light illuminated the bend in the passage. Lin En poked half his head out and looked in that direction as well.

--A silver figure walked out from around the bend in the passage.

The figure was very tall, a head taller than most of the Chaos Cultists, nearly one hundred ninety centimeters. She had broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and long legs, and wore a suit of silver Power Armor.

Every step landed heavily on the ground. Her weighty metal combat boots trampled over the rocks, their hard clanging sound imposing and intimidating.

Sororitas Power Armor.

The armor was decorated with golden patterns. An Aquila relief was carved into the left shoulder plate, while the center of the breastplate bore the Order's emblem, a spread-winged eagle.

She held a broad Power Sword in her right hand.

Energy patterns ran along the blade, shining with clear blue electricity amid the Chaos Cultists' dark-red light, sharp and menacing.

She held the sword at her side, its tip pointing down, like the unsheathed scythe of Death.

Silver armor covered her helmet, along with a dark glass visor that hid her face, but Lin En didn't need to see her face.

A Battle Sister. Standard armor.

Only one Battle Sister would come here.

--Their Battle Sister was back with her equipment!!!!!

Cecilia had returned with her equipment. She had picked up a Power Sword, put on Power Armor, and descended like a divine soldier right in front of Lin En, who was being chased.

Then the Battle Sister sent the nearest Chaos Cultist chasing Lin En flying with a world-shaking kick.

The Chaos Cultist flew backward as if he had been hit by a dump truck.

Lin En's tears instantly burst forth.

Waaah, Sister, you finally came back! Sister, you have to give me justice!!!

Cecilia turned to look at Lin En. Her silver helmet rotated slightly until it pointed toward him.

Then Cecilia pointed backward at Lin En, signaling for him to move back a little. The fight was about to begin.

A Battle Sister in Power Armor truly made people feel safe.

Lin En immediately obediently moved behind her, absolutely unwilling to interfere with his sister's performance.

The Battle Sister's helmet turned back again, facing the Chaos Cultists.

Then she raised her sword.

"I fear no evil, I fear no death."

I fear no evil, and I fear no death.

You had better be the same.

That was like an aircraft carrier turning around.

The Chaos Cultists were advised to arrange guardians for their children immediately.

The Chaos Cultists exploded like a swarm of bees.

"Battle Sister--!!!"

"She's back--!!!"

"She has her equipment--!!!"

"Blood God, protect us--!!!"

There were also some who remained relatively calm.

A Chaos Cultist who looked like a minor leader stepped forward, raised the knife in his hand, and shouted, "Don't panic! We have so many psykers--!!! Psykers, form up--"

As they shouted, Cecilia moved.

She charged fiercely at those blasphemous Chaos Cultists.

Lin En didn't see how she charged. He only saw a silver shadow flash past, followed by a "Bang!" The Chaos Cultist at the very front flew away as if he had been hit by a truck.

...Awesome.

The Power Armor's servo motors let out a roar, low and deep like a beast's growl.

The Battle Sister's strength, enhanced by the Power Armor, was far beyond what these Chaos Cultists could withstand. Everywhere she passed, the Chaos Cultists were sent rolling across the ground.

However, the Chaos Cultists were not completely defenseless. They still had so many psykers.

The psykers could repel enemies with psychic power, and they also had energy weapons.

Dark-red lightning balls flew toward Cecilia's back. Cecilia timely twisted aside and dodged, but although the lightning merely grazed her Power Armor, it still left behind a scorched mark.

The red lightning ball struck the stone wall, blasting open a huge crater as fragments flew everywhere.

...#%&*, these psykers were such a pain to deal with.

The Chaos Cultist psykers had already formed up, and even more densely packed red lightning balls flew toward them.

Cecilia turned around, grabbed Lin En, and flew outward with him.

Although having equipment still wasn't enough for her to wipe out all these Chaos Cultists, breaking out with Lin En was no problem.

The Chaos Cultists suffered considerable casualties against the equipped Battle Sister. After weighing the pros and cons, they resentfully gave up the pursuit.

They retreated to the bend in the passage, to the edge of the dark-red glow, and glared viciously as Cecilia and the Lin En in her hands ran away.

It wasn't worth it.

It wasn't worth fighting to the death with an equipped Battle Sister just to capture a petty thief who had stolen something.

The Blood God did indeed love blood, but for a blood sacrifice and offering that could be replaced at any time, they weren't all going to charge forward and throw their lives away mindlessly.
