The Custodes commander led them through the hall outside the Eternal Gate.
Lin En and the others followed the Custodes through the long pilgrimage corridor.
A deep crimson carpet covered the marble floor. After crossing this stretch, they arrived before the Eternal Gate.
The Eternal Gate.
This was where the Archangel had once guarded the gate.
With one man holding the pass, ten thousand could not break through—one man had held back the entire Chaos army.
Lin En's heartbeat slowed.
He had read about this gate in the books, and later had gone out of his way to look up records concerning it.
On countless nights, he had imagined what the Archangel must have looked like standing before this gate.
The Archangel had spread his wings and stood guard before the gate. No one had dared approach.
Now it was right ahead of him, drawing closer and closer.
Some details had been swallowed by the enormous scale when viewed from afar. Once he came close enough, they suddenly emerged from the metal surface, like statues stepping out of the mist.
The Eternal Gate.
Perhaps for someone who loved a character from a book, being unable to see their idol in person really was a source of regret.
He had truly crossed into Warhammer, but his luck was not particularly good. He was separated from the Archangel's living 30k by ten thousand years.
Lin En reached the front of the Eternal Gate. He did not continue forward, but crouched down first and touched the white marble floor at the entrance.
This was his pilgrimage.
The Archangel had seemed to stand right here back then.
The Archangel's blood might even have dripped onto this very spot.
Our Archangel was the best, greatest, bravest Primarch—!!!
The Archangel's light and righteousness had influenced him.
