The Inquisition's chief Inquisitor wanted to ask, but in the end, he said nothing.
Because his deputy had taken off his glove with a smile.
Only then did he notice an eyeball growing from one of his deputy's wrists.
It was a complete eye, with upper and lower lids, lashes, an iris, and a pupil. Seeing it on a wrist was enough to shred anyone's sanity.
Its sclera was pale violet, its iris deep blue, and its slit pupil like a reptile's.
The eye turned toward the chief Inquisitor's face.
His deputy smiled at him, opened his mouth, and spoke in a voice made of many voices layered together. "A revelation of fate... the pursuit of redemption..."
The voices belonged to men and women, young and old. They murmured like daemonic speech, almost impossible to make out.
These were signs of Tzeentch's corruption: eyes growing from joints, and many voices speaking as one.
Tzeentch was the Changer of Ways. He represented change, ambition, conspiracy, hope, and trickery, and his corruption was the hardest to detect among the Four Chaos Gods.
Unlike the obvious bodily changes caused by the other three gods, those corrupted by Tzeentch could show no outward deformity at first. His mark lurked deep in the soul, sometimes leaving the flesh untouched for years.
At some point, his deputy had been corrupted by Tzeentch. Blue and violet light shifted in his eyes.
