The fleet sailed on for another three days.

Cretacia was the Flesh Tearers' homeworld, still within the Red Scar Sector and not too far from Baal.

Thank goodness. They wouldn't have to spend another month traveling.

Lin En spent those three days in comfort. He ate his fill, slept soundly, and the color visibly returned to his face.

Iron Hammer brought him meals every day, Cecilia made sure he drank water on time, and Phoros checked on him twice a day. Gabriel no longer sat in silence over the star charts, either. Sometimes he came to sit beside Lin En's bed without saying a word.

What could he do? What harm could a tin can mean? He had to put up with him.

Lin En didn't chase him away. Now and then, he made a little idle conversation.

Sometimes Sentoyor came with Gabriel, sat nearby for a while, then left. He was quiet and a little wary of people.

Lin En thought Sentoyor really was a bit like a bat brat who didn't flay people. He didn't mind, though. He rather liked bat brats.

By now, Lin En had made a name for himself in the Warp. No Imps dared come looking for trouble, and no greater daemons would come courting death without orders from their dark gods.

So the ships had an easy passage, with no daemons causing trouble and no storms tossing them about.

Phoros said it might be the quietest Warp voyage he'd had since joining the Chapter.

And days like these probably wouldn't be a one-off. There would be plenty more to come.
