The metal impacts erupted so close together they were almost a single sound. As expected, her flashing blades cut through all four shells. This time, however, she was too close and had stopped moving at high speed, giving the Undead Cannon a better aim. Though she split the shells again, one half-shell still struck her shoulder.
With a bang, the Angel staggered. Yet her Gold-Trimmed Rune Armor was extraordinarily sturdy. The shoulder plate did not deform under the shell's heavy blow; it merely lit up with a wash of rapidly flowing Magic Runes. The hit drew the Angel's hostility back. She charged the magic barrier again, failed several times, and was about to leave when another volley of shells caught her attention.
At the sight, Green's spirits soared. Powerful as this Angel was, she had no normal thought processes. Her actions seemed governed by a rigid, inflexible program. With the powerful magic barrier penning her in like a trapped beast, there was no need to fear her.
