Faced with so many unknowns, Green did not act rashly. Niderland had suddenly gone silent. There was the mysterious Altar, the unusual Psychic Energy, the police officer's corpse that had appeared out of nowhere, and a Legendary-Rank Necromancer lurking nearby... None of it was ordinary. The wisest course was to watch and wait, not rush out like an idiot. That would accomplish nothing except expose him.
But someone clearly disagreed. The police officer who had taken a dislike to Green lost control and shouted, "You'd better shut your mouth! We're the police. You're just a mercenary. Fucking stop telling me what to do, got it?" As he spoke, his hand went to the pistol at his waist. He did not draw it, but the threat was unmistakable.
Green frowned at the officer, then spread his hands and said nothing more. Inwardly, though, he grew even more cautious. Impressive. I didn't even notice his emotions being manipulated. Is someone trying to stir up tension in town? But what would that accomplish?
"Rog! Calm down!" Jessica finally said.
