Once Green was sure the enemy had fled, he prepared to return to the workshop. Just then, Sentas, who was supposed to be watching it, came running over. He stared at the wreckage left by the battle, his face full of shock. "Lord Nicrot, are you all right?"
Before Green could answer, a group of fully armed guards came racing in from farther away.
These guards reported directly to Dean Sost. Every one of them carried the latest Dragon-Hunting Rifle and wore Enchanted Armor with the highest defensive rating. Each was at least a Formal-Rank Transcendent. More than a hundred had arrived, led by Phoenix, an Early Legendary Rank powerhouse at level seven.
The guards immediately sealed off the scene. Only a few minutes later, Dean Sost arrived in person.
At the start of the battle, Clown Hylem had managed to suppress his aura, hoping to kill Green's clone without alerting anyone. But when six Legendary Rank fighters surrounded him, holding back was no longer possible. The clash of several Legendary Rank waves of Psychic Energy was bound to alert Dean Sost.
The King of the East Sea surveyed the wreckage with a cold expression. His gaze settled on Green. "Tell me what happened."
"My lord, I came back from Soster Palace and found people fighting here..." Green invented several figures in black who had fought Clown Hylem. "In the end, the clown was defeated and fled. The others noticed me, but they didn't attack. They left too, and Sentas arrived right after."
Dean Sost frowned. He had little reason to doubt Green's account. Nicrot had served him for years and had earned his trust. Besides, the Psychic Energy unleashed in that battle had all been at Legendary Rank. Nicrot was nowhere near strong enough to take part. At least
