Green fiddled with the crystal bottle for a while, then put it away. He rose and looked into the distance. In that direction, he had just detected a flicker of familiar Psychic Energy.
It was the aura of Holy Light. After so many dealings with the Holy Light Church, Green knew that kind of Psychic Energy fluctuation well.
The way Green had killed the bandits had also shocked whoever was watching from afar. Several hundred meters away, a translucent shadow flickered and swiftly vanished.
Several kilometers away, high above the clouds, an Airship built in the style of the Holy Light Church hovered in the sky. In one of its cabins, a young Cleric suddenly sat up.
On his head was a helmet covered in flashing Magic Runes. A black cable ran from the helmet into the metal bed on which he lay.
The young Cleric opened his eyes and panted, urgency written across his face. He glanced at the dozen or so others wearing helmets like his. None had woken. Drawing a breath, he hurried out of the cabin and into the Airship's spacious Main Control Room.
"What is it?" a Senior Cleric in the Main Control Room demanded sternly when he saw someone barge in.
"My lord! The target I was monitoring just used demonic power," the young Cleric said quickly. The helmet-like device he had been using could project his consciousness over a hundred kilometers away as an invisible projection for surveillance and reconnaissance.
The Senior Cleric's expression changed. He was about to speak when, with a soft click, the control room's automatic door opened and an elegant, regal woman walked in.
"Saintess!" Every Cleric present bowed at once, devotion appearing on their faces.
Saintess Xiweina Ye nodded without expression. "What happened?" she asked.
