As Green chose to recruit her, Penny's corpse was enveloped in a gray-white glow. It flashed abruptly and vanished. However, in the next moment, Green couldn't find Penny in the Rotting Crypt where Zombies were produced, and he froze. "What happened? Where's Penny? Did something go wrong and send her somewhere else?"
He suddenly realized that he had forgotten something. He had been focused only on the fact that Penny would become a Zombie and should appear in the Rotting Crypt, but he had forgotten that Penny was a Hero. She couldn't possibly appear there. Instead, like the Six-Headed Snake Woman, she should be near the ruins of the Hero Hall.
With a thought, Green hurried over. Sure enough, a gray-white glow emerged from the ruins. The light then contracted into a sphere. After several more seconds, the sphere slowly shrank, revealing a human-shaped figure.
Penny's appearance had changed drastically. She had originally been an Apprentice Knight, but now she wore a gorgeous, dark-green-glowing gown and held a gigantic Reaper Scythe more than two meters long.
Seeing this appearance, Green couldn't help freezing. "What do you mean, a Zombie? This is clearly a Corpse Witch! Could it be that Peter Pan and the Necromancer behind him weren't raising Zombies at all, but creating Corpse Witches?"
At that possibility, Green suddenly saw the light. No wonder there had been so many corpses stored inside that sealed Basement, yet only four had succeeded. If they had been refining Zombies, the success rate couldn't have been so low. Only the refining of Corpse Witches would warrant such a massive investment at any cost.
Among early-stage Necromancers, especially for Undead Apprentices, Corpse Witches already fell into the category of advanced Undead creatures. They were also the best assistants a Necromancer could have. Not only
