Ryan and Lory did not stay on Weather Island for long. Once Lory had sorted out her feelings, they returned to Karakuri Island.
"Captain, you're back!" Kid said happily the moment he saw Ryan and Lory. Mainly because talking to that old granny had been incredibly boring.
Battle! That was what Kid wanted!
"What exactly did you encounter? Why has Lory changed so much?" Fujitora suddenly asked.
His Observation Haki had always been exceptionally powerful. Combined with his blindness, Fujitora was extremely sensitive to auras. Since he had spent every day with Lory, he noticed something unusual the moment she appeared.
"You noticed, Uncle Fujitora!" Lory flashed Fujitora a playful smile.
She then told everyone about everything she and Ryan had experienced, including Vegapunk and her mother, Alice.
After hearing it all, everyone was deeply moved. They looked at Lory with complicated expressions. She had spoken in such a relaxed tone, yet the things she described were so cold and merciless.
It was truly hard to imagine just how strong this girl had to be to tell her most heartbreaking story in such a calm voice.
"My child!" The old granny had already burst into tears. She pulled Lory into her arms and sobbed softly. "You've suffered so much! You've suffered so much!"
"It's okay, Grandma!"
"I've never really suffered much. When I was little, Grandma Lia and the others cared for me, and later I had Ryan and the others. I found companions of my own too!"
"I have everything. I just don't have parents."
To everyone's surprise, Lory was the one comforting the old granny. Still, why did it feel so strangely out of place?
"By the way, Grandma, how did you end up here? From what you said, shouldn't you be living in Future Country?" Ryan asked
