Background / History

Hancock and her sisters, Sandersonia and Marigold, were kidnapped by human traffickers while at sea and enslaved by the Celestial Dragons. During her imprisonment, Hancock ate the Love-Love Fruit but had no opportunity to develop its power. 20

During Fisher Tiger’s slave-prison breakout, Hancock stayed behind rather than flee because Marigold had suffered a severe leg wound. She overcame her fear of Mislanda to ask him for help; he treated Marigold’s injury, supplied the sisters, and brought them out of the ruined prison. 20

After learning that Mislanda was Rayleigh’s adopted son and therefore connected to former Amazon Lily queen Shakky, Hancock began calling him “His Highness the Prince.” She and her sisters were brought to Shakky’s care on Sabaody Archipelago, where Hancock gradually recognized that her attachment to Mislanda was romantic love. 21 25

Mislanda gave Hancock a ruby-studded spatial ring, which she initially understood as a proposal, and publicly declared her his partner. Although reluctant to part from him, she accepted Shakky’s plan to return her and her sisters to Amazon Lily so she could recover from captivity. 28 29
