History

Mislanda was originally a university student from the modern world. A pillar of light transported him into the pirate world and transformed him into a child. Rayleigh rescued him from the sea and adopted him after he chose a Log Pose over a gold coin, signifying that he would remain with the Roger Pirates. Rayleigh named him Silbaz-Mislanda; later system records identify him as Silvers Mislanda. 1 2 7 15

He grew up aboard the Oro Jackson as part of the Roger Pirates, becoming close to Shanks and Buggy. He remained behind with them when Buggy fell ill and therefore missed Roger’s voyage to Laugh Tale. 2

At Roger’s execution in Loguetown, Mislanda’s Strongest System awakened and assigned him the task of helping Roger begin the Great Pirate Era. Its reward was the Perfect Dark-Dark Fruit, which Mislanda consumed shortly afterward. 2 4

After the Roger Pirates disbanded, Rayleigh continued raising and training him. Mislanda helped avert the destruction of Ohara alongside Rayleigh, Dragon, Gaban, Saul, and the scholars, while confronting World Government forces including Kuzan. The Marines withdrew, and Dragon relocated the scholars and their books. 4 8 9 12 14

Mislanda later spent four years on an island training and developing his Haki and combat skills, though Rayleigh departed after Mislanda reached his expected level in three years. Mislanda mastered the basic forms of all three Haki and Conqueror’s Haki coating. After travelling the Blues alone for three further years, he entered the Grand Line at age seventeen. 14 15

He joined Fisher Tiger’s raid on the Celestial Dragons’ slave prison, freed thousands of captives, destroyed the facility, and rescued Boa Hancock, Sandersonia, and Marigold. The World Government subsequently identified him as Rayleigh’s adopted son and issued the “Dark King” bounty. 19 20 26

In North Blue, Mislanda expanded his forces by binding Gild Tesoro and Vinsmoke Judge to magical loyalty contracts, taking control of Germa 66, rescuing and renaming Baby 5 as Alice, and recruiting Corazon. 35 37 39 45

After reaching King level, Mislanda began building the Dark Night Pirates into a New World power. His campaigns included defeating Enel and taking the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, obtaining an Ancient Weapon Poneglyph from Sky Island, and fighting Marine Admiral Kizaru before escaping Kuzan and Tsuru. He later negotiated an artificial Devil Fruit trade with Kaido in exchange for a share of Wano’s mineral production and brought Dressrosa under his crew’s protection after defeating Doflamingo’s forces. 47 55 56 70 101 124

Mislanda developed his territories, subordinate crews, and scientific weapons while repeatedly clashing with the Big Mom Pirates and Marines. After capturing Admiral Aokiji and stripping him of his Devil Fruit, he prepared the Dark Night Pirates for a major war on their New World territory. Following the Marines’ defeat, he obtained an Eternal Pose to Laugh Tale and defeated his remaining major pirate rivals, including Whitebeard. He was subsequently recognized as the new Pirate King. 122 211 249 283 294

As Pirate King, Mislanda continued developing artificial combatants and organized a Grand Alliance to overthrow the World Government, declaring himself its leader. 262 311

Appearance

Mislanda is described as a handsome young man. He commonly wears black clothing and was initially known to the Marines only as an unidentified black-robed figure. 15 25

  • His body grew from roughly 1.5 meters to at least 1.6 meters immediately after consuming Dragon Essence at age ten. 13
  • Dragon Essence made his physique substantially more solid and increased his strength approximately fivefold. 13
  • He wore a black robe during his early independent travels, obscuring his identity on wanted posters. 15
  • By his later visit to Sky Island, he stood a little over two meters tall. 56

Personality

Mislanda is intensely ambitious and openly seeks to become the strongest person in the world. He treats defeat as motivation, measuring himself against figures such as Rayleigh, Garp, and Bogart rather than avoiding them. 4 16 33

He is strategic when facing superior opponents, preferring hostage leverage, battlefield control, and escape routes over unwinnable direct confrontations. 8 33 He is also capable of extreme brutality against enemies, particularly slavers and World Government agents, while presenting himself as a liberator who expects freed slaves not to harm others. 19 22

Mislanda is protective of people he considers his own. He rescued the Hancock sisters, prioritizes Hancock’s recovery and safety, gave Alice a home and purpose, and protects Rayleigh despite their differences in strength. 20 28 30 37

As a captain, he combines long-term planning with coercion. He invests in Tesoro’s finances and Germa’s research, but also forces Judge’s submission and uses threats to secure an alliance against the World Government. He has treated Gion coercively, even as their relationship later became intimate; she continued to refuse to betray the Marines for him. 35 39 47 137 311

Mislanda ultimately pursues the Pirate King title through supremacy over rival pirates rather than treating arrival at Laugh Tale as its only possible qualification. Even after gaining the title, he remains attentive to territorial administration and emerging threats. 249 294

Abilities & Skills

Perfect Dark-Dark Fruit

Mislanda possesses a system-granted version of the Dark-Dark Fruit without its stated usual drawbacks: doubled pain, inability to elementalize, and vulnerability to Seastone or seawater. He is shown swimming despite being a Devil Fruit user. 2 6

  • Creates black vortices with immense gravitational force. 4
  • Can transform into darkness or black smoke for mobility and evasion. 9 17
  • Absorbs bullets, cannonballs, flames, explosions, objects, and opponents. 18 19
  • Stores people and objects inside Black Hole Space. 17 22
  • Travels through darkness and can transport other people through black vortices. 18 21
  • Uses Dark Water to pull Devil Fruit users in and suppress their powers. 9 42
  • Uses Black Hole Path to submerge, imprison, preserve, and later release absorbed targets. 8
  • Can extract a Devil Fruit ability from a user and seal it into an ordinary fruit. He later used this ability to take the Rumble-Rumble Fruit from Enel and the Ice-Ice Fruit from Aokiji. 21 22 55 211
  • Can absorb attacks and release their stored energy, including opponents’ lightning and light-based attacks. 19 55 70
  • Created Dark Netherworld Black Hole, a large-scale technique that devastated Rubeck Island and grievously wounded Doflamingo, who survived and escaped. 43
  • Developed Killing Fist, an attraction-based attack designed to restrain Devil Fruit users and deliver dark energy through a target’s body. It severely injured Douglas Bullet. 163
  • Can leave behind darkness that immobilizes enemies and later compress and release it remotely; one such trap devastated an island occupied by Marine forces, though using it while injured worsened his condition. 166

Haki

Rayleigh trained Mislanda in Observation, Armament, and Conqueror’s Haki. 6

  • Observation Haki — senses nearby presences, movement, and anticipated actions. 6
  • Armament Haki — strengthens offense and defense and allows attacks against elemental Devil Fruit users. 6
  • Conqueror’s Haki — awakened while resisting Rayleigh’s own Haki; its first eruption shook a forest and destroyed their house. 6
  • Conqueror’s Haki Coating — mastered after two years of training with Rayleigh. 14
  • His Conqueror’s Haki could incapacitate Germa’s clone soldiers and weaken the giant snails carrying Germa 66. 38
  • Later releases could overwhelm much of Dressrosa and knock out ordinary people across the Goa Kingdom. 123 128

Dragon Essence

Dragon Essence is a system reward that grants a superhuman physical foundation, continuous bodily nourishment, healing, durability, and potential Dragon Transformation. 13

  • Grants agelessness, immortality, and extreme resilience. 13 14
  • Increased Mislanda’s physical strength by roughly five times upon consumption. 13
  • Rapidly heals injuries without lasting aftereffects; repeated injuries during training strengthened him further. 14
  • Healed the facial wound inflicted by Gion. 44
  • His later physical training enabled him to match or surpass Douglas Bullet in a direct exchange of punches, despite observers’ assumption that he relied primarily on Devil Fruit powers. 163

All Five Sights—Observer

A forehead ornament Imperial Arm that grants five perception-based abilities. 23

  • X-ray vision.
  • Illusion vision.
  • Precognition.
  • Long-distance vision.
  • Mind’s eye, including perception of others’ thoughts. 23

Water Dragon Possession—Black Marlin

A ring-shaped Imperial Arm that controls nearby liquids, including seawater and blood. It is also called the Hecatoncheir Ring in later accounts. 24 70 230

  • Creates enormous water dragons capable of intimidating Sea Kings and destroying vessels. 24 45
  • Gives Mislanda a major advantage against Devil Fruit users because it manipulates seawater. 24
  • Used to summon water dragons against Germa 66. 38
  • Combined with his darkness, its water dragons briefly resisted Kuzan’s freezing power and destroyed a Marine warship. 70

Biological Imperial Arms

Mislanda commands two living Imperial Arms acquired through the system. 23

  • Lightning Flash—Susanoo — an immortal horned warrior whose core must remain intact. He can regenerate from severe damage, control his weapon telekinetically, build, cook, and groom Mislanda. 23 30
    • Soul Rend evolves Susanoo into a King-tier combatant for thirty minutes at the cost of one year of Mislanda’s lifespan; it can be used once per week. 23
  • Beast Transformation—Hundred-Armed Giant / Xiaobi — an immortal hound that normally appears as a small dog but can become a ten-meter giant or a blood-red berserk monster. 23 30 33
    • Its core must survive for it to regenerate. 23
    • Its berserk roar can paralyze everyone in range, including Mislanda. 33
    • Xiaobi later acquired the Munch-Munch Fruit, which Mislanda took from Wapol. 53 55

Other Abilities

  • Mislanda is later described as possessing the Tremor-Tremor Fruit alongside the Dark-Dark Fruit, though the supplied account does not establish when or how he acquired it. 163
  • He demonstrated the ability to restore Rayleigh and Shakky to younger forms; Rayleigh’s apparent age was reduced by more than thirty years. The mechanism is not specified in the supplied account. 299
