Silver Wolf teleported out and looked at Windchaser beside her. "Hi~"
Windchaser jumped in fright. "! You're out? Wait!? How did you..."
Silver Wolf casually pulled up her system panel. "You mean this? I asked her for it. Don't worry, only you two know."
Vernacular Poet stroked his chin and silently stared at the panel.
Windchaser, meanwhile, was shocked. Her brain finally seemed to start working. "So this really is another world?"
"Not too late." Silver Wolf took a cola from Phanes's inventory and casually pushed it toward Windchaser. "Want some?"
"No. Do you have orange juice?"
"Yep."
Vernacular Poet continued silently staring at Silver Wolf's panel:
[Silver Wolf] [Level: 99*?] [Class: Haven't decided yet] [Status: Good]
In the end, he could not help asking, "Are you serious about that class?"
Silver Wolf spread her hands. "I haven't decided yet. You guys couldn't keep your mole under control and got me exposed."
"Make one up. 'Pixel Hacker'?"
"Sure." Silver Wolf directly took Vernacular Poet's suggestion out of laziness.
Vernacular Poet immediately switched to the rankings. "Holy shit, you're first."
"Huh?" Silver Wolf swiftly switched over and saw it.
[Rank 1: Hidden] [Level: 99*] [Rank 2: Hidden] [Level: 76] [Rank 3: Yanlin White Tower] [Level: 74] [Guild: Platinum Courtyard] [Rank 4: False Words] [Level: 73] [Guild: Laughing Lords] [Rank 5: Yan Zhiting] [Level: 72] [Guild: Platinum Courtyard]
Silver Wolf was utterly speechless. Then she casually tapped it. "Seriously, what is this supposed to be? Give me a normal level."
Silver Wolf had not adjusted that. That damned Phanes had done it.
Blue pixels flashed, and Silver Wolf's data became perfectly ordinary.
[Level: 65]
"This works. I don't want to stand out too much. It'd be annoying if trouble kept coming for me one after another." At the thought of all those people who could revive after death coming to find her one by one, Silver Wolf shuddered.
If it really comes to that, don't make me use my online ultimate move! Doxxing!
Silver Wolf had already decided that if anyone truly failed to appreciate her kindness in the future, she would ruthlessly teach them a lesson with her greatsword.
Windchaser watched the smile constantly spreading across Silver Wolf's face. "Um... why are you smiling?"
Silver Wolf instantly wiped the expression off her face and switched to a battle-ready look. "Oh, nothing. What did She tell you to do again?"
"Investigate some ruins on the northern snowfields," Vernacular Poet explained.
Silver Wolf took a sip of the cola in her hand. "What do you think? Go now, or tomorrow?"
"Doesn't have to be that soon," Windchaser added weakly after taking a sip of orange juice.
Vernacular Poet checked the time. "We should log off too. It's getting late, Wolf Venerable."
Silver Wolf checked the time. "Six in the evening. What time is it for you guys?"
"Almost midnight."
"Oh~" Silver Wolf suddenly gave a wicked smile. A fun idea flashed through her eyes as she stared at Windchaser.
"?" Windchaser's animal-like instincts told her that something bad seemed likely to happen tonight.
"Then log off early. It's late, time to sleep." Silver Wolf waved her hand.
"Mm." The two of them then turned into motes of light and vanished from where they stood.
But Silver Wolf's little hands were not clean. She had already left marks on them, then casually checked their game data—their bodies—and went to Phanes's mysterious space.
"Well, resource reuse too."
But that was just the appetizer. The main course was naturally...
"Time to explore the Urban World~"
Silver Wolf "logged off" as well.
On the far side of the world.
A white-haired girl with hair reaching her shoulders slowly emerged from her gaming pod. Her body trembled continuously, as though she could not adapt to it.
"Ah... I really want to keep playing forever." She could not help sighing.
Yet a girl in a maid outfit was already sitting on top of her gaming pod, quietly waiting.
"Miss, come." The maid gently supported the fragile white-haired young lady and slowly helped her onto the bed.
"Miss, would you like anything to eat before bed?" The maid stood quietly by the door, waiting for her answer.
"No. Let me rest properly."
"Very well." The maid turned off the lights, then gently closed the door and left.
Only the white-haired girl remained in the dark room, staring blankly at the ceiling.
"If only I were like I was in the game..." She lay helplessly in bed, preparing to fall asleep.
But then a teasing voice appeared beside her, utterly unconcerned with the occasion.
"I never expected the person who defeated me to be this sick in real life."
Silver Wolf appeared beside her.
"!" The white-haired girl was startled, but she could not make any sudden movements. She could only look at Silver Wolf sluggishly.
Silver Wolf edited a small Cartridge into existence in her hand. "Don't worry, I muted it already. They can't hear us."
She then placed the small Cartridge in the white-haired girl's hand. "Hold onto it—I told you, I'm the strongest."
Elation might not have been able to cure curses, but treating ordinary illnesses was effortless for it.
The tiny blue Cartridge slowly entered the white-haired girl's body. There was no obvious change to her appearance, though her eyes became more lively. Still, that was more likely because Silver Wolf had scared her.
Of course. What, were you expecting it to be like Phantasmoon Games? Strengthening a Pathwalker's power all at once? Not to mention whether Windchaser even has the physical constitution for it right now, you can't overdo it when nourishing someone's body either.
Silver Wolf sat on the edge of the bed and smiled at the white-haired girl. "Relax. I'm just giving you a choice—the Cartridge has fused with you now. This is your own game account. If you think it's necessary, then 'log into' her and let the you from the game appear."
The white-haired girl was too frightened to speak, as if she had not recovered from the shock earlier.
"W-Wolf Venerable, is it really you...?"
"Of course. Didn't you and your sister already guess the truth of this world? Why are you so shocked that I appeared?" Silver Wolf ate a lollipop while looking out at the night view beyond the window.
"Mm... I was only guessing."
"Ah~ Actually, I originally wanted to give you a 'surprise.'" Silver Wolf raised a hand with a sigh. "But after seeing how frail your body is, I decided not to mess with you."
The white-haired girl's curiosity was piqued by Silver Wolf. "Then what surprise did you want to give me?"
"You've played Pac-Man, right?"
"Yeah."
"Make Pac-Man chase you."
"Eek!"
"Haha, I'm kidding." Silver Wolf simply wanted to see the white-haired girl's startled, animal-like expression—especially from someone taller than herself.
"That's really bad taste."
Silver Wolf stood up, faced away from the white-haired girl, and waved. "I'm off, then. I still haven't properly explored your world."
"W-Wait!" The white-haired girl interrupted Silver Wolf with all her strength. "I... I! I haven't told you my name yet."
"Hm?" Silver Wolf turned to look at the white-haired girl, who had somehow struggled into a sitting position.
"I... I'm Kawaba Mutsumi. Thank you, Wolf Venerable."
Silver Wolf smiled back at her, then answered coolly, "I'm the Wolf Venerable of Pendelock. See you next time, Mutsumi."
Silver Wolf's figure then turned into pixels where she stood and gradually scattered away.
Kawaba Mutsumi remained on the bed, clutching her own hand as she looked out the window until her vision blurred.
"Thank you... truly... thank you..."
A few tears slowly slid onto the back of her hand.
