Background / History

Windchaser is a member of the Boundarybreaker Squad alongside Vernacular Poet and Sunken Crow. Before meeting Silver Wolf, the squad was already conducting dangerous forest expeditions and seeking a Moonshade Vine Heart for Sunken Crow’s breakthrough. She treats such journeys as both missions and opportunities to enjoy the scenery. 2 3 4

Her real-world identity is Kawaba Mutsumi, a physically frail, white-haired girl whose condition contrasts sharply with Windchaser’s capable in-game persona. Silver Wolf later gives Mutsumi an Elation cartridge that can let her invoke her Windchaser account without forcibly overburdening her body. 18

Mutsumi eventually uses the cartridge in the real world to call upon Windchaser’s power during an emergency. The activation explicitly warns that no revival mechanism exists outside the game world. 71

Her recklessness is tempered by real field discipline. In dangerous terrain, she probes suspicious ground with her scabbard, avoids hazardous plants after warnings, and follows Sunken Crow’s assessments before moving. 3

She is also courageous to a fault. During the battle with the Thunder Spider Matriarch, she continues holding aggro after being impaled and poisoned, refusing to retreat while her team still needs an opening. 6

Despite frequently being teased as naïve, Windchaser possesses exceptional fighting-game skill. She decisively defeats Silver Wolf in a best-of-three match, even after Silver Wolf stops holding back. 15

Windchaser accompanies Silver Wolf into the corrupted World Tree, where she follows Silver Wolf’s escape instructions without hesitation and tries to protect her when Aether Editing strain worsens. 10

She witnesses Silver Wolf’s LV999 transformation and the destruction of an Abyssal Projection, recording the event as a major storyline development. 13

Platinum Courtyard Alliance
