Silver Wolf stepped out of the ramshackle one-story house and surveyed the surroundings. Nothing had changed from before; the only variable was this rundown wooden shack.
"War of Fantasy..." Silver Wolf questioned Phanes directly through the system.
"What happened back then in Phanes's War of Fantasy?" Silver Wolf sent the message straight to her.
No reply came. Silver Wolf frowned. "Is she busy?"
Silver Wolf then messaged Windchaser and the others. "Reply 1 if you received this."
No response.
The message had clearly shown as sent, so Silver Wolf contacted them through the communicator. "Check the system. Did you get my message?"
"Okay." Only Sunken Crow replied. "No."
"Tell them."
"Mm."
Only then did Silver Wolf smile. "Now this is interesting. If there really were nothing here, how would this be any different from a farming game? What I want to play is an adventure."
Then Silver Wolf soared into the air. "No more talking. Time to skip class!"
Silver Wolf edited a cannon onto her arm and instantly blasted the boundary in the sky.
"Boom!"
It had no effect whatsoever.
Silver Wolf was stunned. "Even if I'm only Level 70 right now, it shouldn't have done absolutely nothing, right?"
She went from silent to accepting it. "Thinking about it, both sides are fighting over this place. If there weren't something insanely special about it, that wouldn't make sense."
But she had already tested the boundary's hardness and softness. Next came infiltration.
Silver Wolf approached the boundary, knocked on it with her hand, edited herself again, and passed through the boundary to the outside.
Everything she saw was engulfed in war. Purple-black slime stretched like an oceanic sea of stars, yet behind it lay layer upon layer of starfields. At that moment, it was devouring a small asteroid, and on its far side, countless tiny creatures could be seen constantly battling one another.
"?" From far away, Silver Wolf looked around and confirmed that she was indeed in space, then turned back to look.
The place she had emerged from was actually a lifeless planet, like one that had already been crushed by the Abyss.
"False Sky?! Was this Phanes's doing?" Silver Wolf instantly understood why there was a boundary. "I never expected the Abyss outside to be this vast."
Silver Wolf was not sure whether the distant Abyss was the same group that had appeared around Sen Yue.
To avoid being tracked by the Abyss, Silver Wolf teleported back.
By then, Windchaser had stopped asking questions and was already playing with Vita.
Vernacular Poet and Sunken Crow were helping clean the house while casually examining the things Vita had collected.
When Silver Wolf suddenly appeared again, Vernacular Poet habitually stopped what he was doing, quietly came to her side, and asked in a low voice, "Wolf Venerable, what happened?"
Silver Wolf gave a wicked smile. "Looks like the rumors were true. This place really has some huge secrets hidden away~"
"?" Vernacular Poet lowered his head and looked at Silver Wolf's wicked expression. "What is it?"
"Nothing serious." Silver Wolf chose not to say anything outright.
Vernacular Poet immediately thought of the last time Silver Wolf had concealed something. "Don't say that..."
"Hehe." Silver Wolf stopped teasing Vernacular Poet and told him what she had seen. "The outside is full of the Abyss. From the looks of it, the Abyss really is a cosmic disaster."
Vernacular Poet stroked his chin in thought. "Does that mean we've reached the edge of the world?"
Silver Wolf pondered it gravely as well. "It does feel like that, but something about it is strangely off..."
It seemed Silver Wolf had forgotten something, but she could not tell what it was.
"Anyway, did you find anything? That little Elf... is Vita really suspicious?"
Vernacular Poet lowered his head and fell silent for a moment. "Based on my memories, there isn't anything suspicious so far. But Vita really lacks common sense."
"Yeah, got it. If there's nothing suspicious, then let's just wrap this up." Silver Wolf pulled up her panel and checked it again:
[Blessings: Forest Moon God, Phanes]
As long as the blessings remained, that was enough to prove the local gods' attitude. Next, she would simply take this unknown Elf back with them.
"What?" Vernacular Poet did not understand what Silver Wolf meant at all.
Silver Wolf raised a finger and closed the panel as she explained, "Simple. We can just TP out. No need to go through all that trouble solving puzzles. I'll just take her to Pha... the goddess."
Vernacular Poet keenly caught Silver Wolf's words, but merely noted them in silence. "Then are we leaving now?"
"Speedrun~"
"Wait... should we tell Vita first?" Vernacular Poet felt it would be safer to mention it, if only to give them something to explain later.
"Ah~" Silver Wolf looked up at Vernacular Poet, her eyes seeming to ask whether something was wrong with him. "Out of respect for you, we can spare the time this once. Remember to tell the others too."
Silver Wolf could have informed them directly through a hologram or the communicator, but since Vernacular Poet wanted to go through this unnecessary extra step, she might as well take another unnecessary extra step.
A few minutes passed.
Everyone successfully gathered in front of Silver Wolf, who was playing Snake.
Vita also looked curiously at Silver Wolf, her eyes filled with innocent stupidity.
Silver Wolf put away her handheld console and casually glanced around. "Little one, is there anything else you need to bring?"
"No!" Vita answered with her hands on her hips, her voice still soft and childish.
With a tap of Silver Wolf's finger, Aether Editing activated!
Silver Wolf brought everyone to the snowfield outside the secret realm, but she found it strange. "What's going on? Can I only teleport to somewhere nearby outside?"
Before Silver Wolf could figure it out, she caught sight of a pegasus flying through the sky.
It was a pegasus that carried itself with elegance, yet radiated an exceptionally savage aura. More than half of the white scales on its body had been corrupted, and beneath that elegance now remained only madness.
[Abyss · Linjun] [Level: 87] [A terrifying thing formed when fragments of the Primordial were corrupted by the Abyss, becoming a source of pollution]
Windchaser tucked in her little hands and stared tremblingly at Linjun in the sky. "I still can't fly."
Vernacular Poet quickly grabbed Windchaser and ran. "What are you looking at? Run!"
Sunken Crow swiftly scooped up Vita, slipped into Windchaser's shadow, and fled with them.
Silver Wolf, meanwhile, remained completely unmoved. Compared to the problem before her, she cared more about why teleportation could only take her to the snowfield rather than Phanes's space.
"Hey, don't tell me that cheapskate locked it up?" Silver Wolf casually looked up at Linjun. "Want to fight? Gladly."
Silver Wolf's figure turned into pixels and vanished from where she stood, then appeared high in the air on the other side.
"Who doesn't know how to look down from above?" Silver Wolf gave Linjun an upside-down thumbs-up as "encouragement." "Dealing with you will be a piece of cake."
Silver Wolf had no intention of using Level 999, but!
She was very interested in the flashy effects of Level 999, so she was going to "transform."
Silver Wolf floated high in the air and conjured a Cartridge in her hand again. This time, it was her Level 70 Cartridge.
"Remember this: Wolf Venerable is carrying you all."
