Reward Stage!
Daiya knelt down beside Silver Wolf almost instantly, grabbing Silver Wolf clothes tightly. "Oh my god! Don't leave me! I don't want to die!"
Silver Wolf looked down at the kneeling Daiya, then at the hem of her dress that had been grabbed.
"..."
She had originally planned to use Aether Editing to send Daiya back, and her fingertips had just drawn a few data lines in the air.
Enter coordinates and confirm.
The next second.
[Coordinates are disordered]
Unable to establish a stable spatial anchor point
Silver Wolf paused, then scanned her surroundings again.
The spatial structure here is indeed problematic; if we force a teleportation, who knows where we'll end Daiya?
[Coordinates are disordered]
Silver Wolf glanced at the weak and helpless Daiya, but ultimately decided against teleporting her. It wouldn't be good if she accidentally teleported her to some strange place and got killed.
"Then don't make things worse."
Compared to Sen Yue's current state, Daiya's secrets are insignificant.
Silver Wolf understood that everyone has their own secrets, especially since they had just met and it was impossible for him to reveal all of them.
Daiya's eyes lit up instantly. "Yay!"
Windchaser, scratching his head, watched Daiya's excitement.
"Is there something wrong with her?"
The Vernacular Poet coughed lightly, "It's not good to talk about others behind their backs."
"Oh..."
Silver Wolf ignored them; she was already looking ahead.
In the dark gray forest, there were far more monsters than they had imagined; they had only walked a few hundred meters.
A swarm of black beetles emerged from the grass.
Their shells resemble playing cards that have been randomly pieced together; the plates don't fit together perfectly, but rather have misaligned gaps.
The patterns on the backs of each beetle are not all the same; some look like dice rolls, some like crooked smiley faces, and some even seem to be constantly changing, as if the deck is about to be reshuffled at any moment.
[Corrupted Ironclad Beetle]
[Level: 42]
Dozens of beetles simultaneously spread their carapaces, revealing scarlet patterns beneath their black shells.
However, those patterns did not flow in a normal vein pattern, but rather, like out-of-control neon lights, flickering and intertwining with each other.
Their carapaces were slightly open, revealing not neatly arranged spikes, but a constantly spinning black die.
The next second.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh--
Numerous tiny black spikes shot out from their backs.
The spikes suddenly changed direction in mid-air, colliding and bouncing off each other, like a game of chance with no rhyme or reason.
The attack, originally aimed at the group, suddenly saw half of it flying towards its own comrades.
Silver Wolf didn't even turn around.
The Weird Bean raised its head; it seemed to be still half asleep.
The next second.
Mouth open.
A tremendous suction force erupted from its mouth.
The spikes scattered across the sky changed direction.
The moment the spikes were sucked into the mouth of the Weird Bean, they twisted into a string of black smiley faces in mid-air before disappearing completely.
Corrupted Ironclad Beetle Swarm: "?"
I chewed the Weird Bean twice.
Click.
Strange background music was emanating from its belly.
[Corrupted Ironclad Beetle x31]
[Cleared]
Sunken Crow glanced at the Weird Bean. "So fast."
Silver Wolf nodded.
The group continued forward.
They hadn't gone far when the ground suddenly cracked open.
More than a dozen thick black vines emerged from the ground and coiled towards the group.
The vines were also not in a normal shape.
They are thick in one section and thin in another, as if they were casually stretched and then cut off.
Each segment is covered with flower buds of different shapes; some look like mouths, some like eyes, and some even have a constantly spinning die on top.
The vines rushed forward, intertwined with each other, but halfway there, they suddenly became tangled together, and some even changed direction, pulling back towards their roots.
Silver Wolf raised her hand, but before she could move, the Weird Bean had already shot out.
It bit into the foremost vine.
Click.
The entire vine broke off.
No juice flowed from the broken end; instead, a cloud of multicolored smoke billowed out. Strange laughter emanated from within the smoke.
The remaining vines lashed out wildly.
The Weird Bean didn't dodge; it didn't even retreat a step.
Simply open your mouth.
The entire vine, along with its roots several meters underground, was dragged out by it.
The soil exploded.
A giant, Corrupted Man-Eating Flower was forcibly dragged out of the ground.
Its petals are layered upon each other, each one resembling a torn playing card.
Instead of a normal stamen, the flower's heart is a constantly shifting smiling face, its mouth stretched almost to the point of splitting open, revealing countless sharp teeth that open and close in different rhythms.
[Corrupted Man-Eating Flower]
[Level: 51]
It opened its enormous mouth, and the sharp teeth inside began to spin wildly.
With each rotation, the smiley face on the petal changes its expression.
The Weird Bean also opened their mouths, one big and one small.
Two mouths facing each other.
There was a two-second silence.
The Corrupted Man-Eating Flower let out a piercing shriek first.
Its petals suddenly opened, and dozens of tongues shot out from within.
I swallowed the whole Weird Bean's Every Flavor Bean.
Along with those tongues, vines, roots, and the surrounding polluted soil.
You can't beat me, believe it or not!
Windchaser: "This completely frees up our hands."
Daiya had already started clapping, "That's amazing! Wolf Venerable is truly powerful."
Silver Wolf turned to look at her, Daiya immediately stopped clapping. "Aha, sorry to bother you."
Silver Wolf: "..."
Further ahead.
The monsters are becoming increasingly numerous.
Corrupted Wolf Pack.
Their bodies look as if they were forcibly pieced together by different kinds of wolves, with four legs of different lengths, and their heads constantly shifting position while running.
Sometimes they grow on the neck, sometimes on the abdomen, and there was even a wolf whose head was hanging directly from the tip of its tail.
Withered Wood Demon.
They drag rotting tree trunks, wear crooked smiles on their faces, and their arms can randomly transform into vines, blades, or a giant hand when they wave them.
There was even a group of Abyssal Parasite Beast with levels close to sixty.
Their bodies appear to be stitched together by countless black lines, and they have asymmetrical wings on their backs. Each parasite moves without any fixed pattern; one second it may be crawling on the ground, and the next it may be flying backwards into the sky.
They burst forth from all parts of the forest.
The number is increasing.
But for Silver Wolf and his group, the battle hadn't even truly begun.
The Weird Bean were in the lead.
Eat! Eat! Eat!
Continue on, and you'll encounter flying monsters.
Eat!
Some monsters clearly possess intelligence; upon seeing their companions being eaten, they immediately turn and flee.
But they haven't run far before the ground beneath their feet suddenly turns into a landslide.
The monsters screamed as they slid back, falling one after another into the mouths of the Weird Bean.
They ate the Weird Bean very seriously, even pausing occasionally to examine the different flavors of the different Beans.
It was as if they were conducting some kind of very serious appraisal.
Windchaser looked at her, "If we had this ability when the server opened, wouldn't we be invincible?"
Silver Wolf chewed on his bubble gum. "Time's tight, let's go."
The Vernacular Poet glanced around; along the way, no monsters dared to approach.
Even some monsters hiding far away turned and fled upon sensing the scent of the Weird Bean.
They fled in different directions, some even crashing into nearby tree trunks, as if they themselves didn't know where to run.
Windchaser stared in disbelief, "Why... why did they all run away?"
Silver Wolf glanced at the Weird Bean, "Oh~ because that's how the code is written."
The Weird Bean turned around, its intelligent eyes fixed on the fleeing monster in the distance.
Daiya then spoke up, "Because those who understand the times are the wise ones!"
Windchaser couldn't help but laugh, "What exactly are these blue soybeans?"
Silver Wolf thought for a moment, "You can call him Weird Bean. Last time, I wanted you to race him."
The Vernacular Poet glanced at Windchaser, then at Silver Wolf, "... This..."
Even Windchaser knew it was a surprise Silver Wolf wanted to give them when they first met. "Don't worry, Wolf Venerable isn't that bad, he was just joking."
that's all.
There were no real battles along the way.
The Weird Bean are responsible for clearing out any ordinary monsters that get too close.
The group was essentially taking a walk in a deadly forest.
finally.
They passed through the last patch of dark gray woods, and the World Tree appeared ahead.
Everyone stopped at the same time, even though they had already seen it from a distance.
When you actually get close, you'll still be overwhelmed by its size.
The tree trunk was as thick as a mountain; standing at its roots, they couldn't even see the other side of the trunk.
Countless enormous branches stretched towards the sky.
The dead tree crowns were layered upon each other.
From a distance, it appears as if it is holding up an entire dark gray sky.
The Vernacular Poet slowly tilted his head back. "Wow, that's really high." He squinted. "Looking at it this way, it almost reaches the stars."
Windchaser also raised its head, "When it was alive..."
She didn't continue, but at that time, this place would probably truly be like an independent sanctuary.
Silver Wolf didn't admire it for long; she had already noticed the abnormal cracks on the surface of the tree trunk.
Approaching her, I raised my hand and gently touched the tree trunk with my fingertips.
The next second.
A stream of blue data flowed from her fingertips, and she left a blue data marker on a node.
