"Fugaku, that's Danzo—the leader of Root, a comrade of the Hokage, and a disciple of the Second Hokage," a jonin said.
Fugaku gave a cold laugh. "I don't care who he is. He committed a crime on this scale in the Land of Fire, and now he's gone after members of the Uchiha clan. I intend to make this as public as possible.
"I'll make sure everyone in the Land of Fire hears about it. If he dared to do it, he'd better be ready to face the consequences when it comes to light.
"Do you think Danzo will be able to keep running Root after this is exposed? He won't even get past the daimyo.
"I don't believe the Hokage will step forward to protect him. Gather every ninja and come with me to Root to arrest him. Danzo has committed a grave crime. As the force responsible for maintaining order in Konoha, the Security Force has the authority to arrest him."
"Yes!"
A signal flare burst in the sky. It was the Uchiha clan's rallying signal.
Figures raced through the forest. Twenty minutes later, they had all assembled before Fugaku.
"Move out! Arrest Danzo and rescue our comrades!"
The jonin around him echoed the call.
"Arrest Danzo! Rescue our comrades!"
The assembled Security Force members caught the fervor sweeping through the crowd, and soon everyone was shouting.
Fugaku looked with satisfaction at the fired-up Uchiha around him. Then he leaped away, racing through the forest with the others close behind.
The Uchiha following him talked among themselves. None of them had expected Danzo to be their enemy this time.
Many Uchiha hated Danzo. Of all Konoha's leaders, he had been the most aggressive in pushing the clan aside.
If Danzo fell, the Uchiha would have one fewer open
