Outside the Root Base, Danzo had been subdued, and the Root ninja who had surrounded them had all stopped fighting.
Danzo finally shut his mouth. He knew there was no point saying more. The Uchiha clearly had the upper hand.
"Come along, Danzo. Let's see what filth Root has been hiding and just how many atrocities you've committed."
Fugaku led Danzo toward the Root Base. Around them, Root ninja and Uchiha shinobi faced off.
The usually cold, gloomy Root Base was unusually lively today. Several Uchiha were confronting the ninja stationed inside.
Meanwhile, many other Uchiha were searching the Root Base.
"All Security Force members, follow me."
With Danzo in tow, Fugaku entered and strode toward the Laboratory.
The closer they got to the Laboratory, the worse Danzo's expression became.
"Danzo, every ugly thing you've done will be exposed to all of Konoha. There's no coming back from this. No one can save you."
Danzo could no longer keep his composure. He looked at Fugaku Uchiha and asked, "What do you know? Why do you know so much about Root?"
"Not much. But your arrogance tells me what kind of man you are. You're too hungry for power. With Root in your hands, it was bound to become a den of corruption."
The Laboratory soon came into view. Uchiha Jin had entered ahead of them with a squad of Security Force members and taken all the researchers inside into custody.
The moment everyone entered the Laboratory, they were stunned by what they saw: rows of Nutrient Tanks containing Test Subjects who had been injected with First-Generation Cells.
Many of the Test Subjects had only just died and had not yet been disposed of. Others were still alive, though they were close to death, struggling with all their strength.
