Near Konoha Prison stood a row of tightly guarded two-story buildings. After the Jonin Meeting ended at noon, Danzo had been brought there that afternoon.
There was no trace of dejection on Danzo's face. If anything, he looked calmer than usual. Too much about this affair had been a coincidence.
It had made him reflect, and he had found several obvious holes. Fugaku Uchiha seemed to know far too much about Root's operations.
Danzo did not believe for a moment that Root had left evidence behind while capturing the two Uchiha. The pair had been seized before they could even react.
Looking back at everything that had happened, Danzo began to suspect that Fugaku Uchiha had planted a spy in Root. If he followed that line of thought,
everything that had seemed unreasonable began to make sense. For the past two years, he had been targeted from every direction, and little had gone his way.
If Fugaku had awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan two years ago, Elder Ito's murder would make sense as well.
First, Fugaku had rescued Ito and killed Root ninja to frame Danzo. Then he had killed Ito himself, again to frame Danzo.
Danzo gritted his teeth and slammed a fist into the table before him. The thick wooden table shattered.
Now I'm a prisoner, and all of this is only speculation. I have no evidence. Even if I tell anyone, no one will believe me.
