Seeing that Fugaku had little interest in the Experimental Equipment, Orochimaru dropped the subject.
The Uchiha were growing more powerful by the day. As Clan Head, Fugaku could hardly be expected to care about such possessions.
If anything, Orochimaru felt a little unsophisticated for bringing them up.
Orochimaru took out a Sealing Scroll and removed a sealed test tube containing Black Zetsu's cells.
Fugaku's attention was immediately drawn to it. He stared intently at the substance inside.
"Is this the Black Substance you mentioned, formed from a mixture of the Seven Chakra Types?"
Orochimaru nodded with a smile. Fugaku's astonishment gave him a small sense of satisfaction.
Since the war in the Land of Rain years ago, Orochimaru had rarely seen Fugaku lose his composure.
"You were right. This Black Substance can take both liquid and solid form.
I'd like to separate a small portion for observation. I hope you don't mind."
Orochimaru nodded. "Go ahead. We're both here to study it, and I doubt we'll understand it thoroughly anytime soon.
If you have any new insights, Fugaku, they could save us a great deal of time."
They separated a tiny portion of the Black Substance, placed it in a testing vessel, and exposed it to the air.
Fugaku studied it closely. In the blink of an eye, his black eyes turned into crimson Mangekyo Sharingan.
The Mangekyo Sharingan slowly revolved, and a cold aura filled the Laboratory. Orochimaru felt the hairs on his body stand on end.
His expression grew grave. Drops of cold sweat rolled down his forehead; the aura Fugaku gave off was terrifying.
Orochimaru retreated several steps, his eyes fixed on Fugaku.
Fugaku's expression suddenly changed, and the Mangekyo Sharingan vanished.
Orochimaru looked at him in confusion.
"Have you discovered something, Fugaku?"
Fugaku nodded, his face
