"Clan Head, will that really work?" Obito asked curiously.

Fugaku smiled. "Are you confident you can become Hokage?"

"I'll definitely become Hokage," Obito said without hesitation.

"Then this approach will work. You're the future Hokage. No matter how capable Kakashi is, he'll still be your subordinate.

"Don't bother arguing with him now. Once you're Hokage, if Kakashi gets on your nerves, you can make life difficult for him."

"Clan Head, what do you mean by 'make life difficult'?"

"Give him assignments he won't want to do. Like cleaning toilets."

Obito's eyes lit up. He soon burst out laughing, apparently already picturing it.

"Clan Head, your idea really works! I haven't even seen Kakashi yet, and I'm already happy. All that frustration from before is gone."

Fugaku laughed. "Good. At your age, enjoying yourselves matters most. Don't let anything keep you down."

Obito nodded firmly. "I understand. Thank you, Clan Head."

After they entered the Uchiha District, Obito said goodbye to Fugaku and ran home.

Fugaku watched Obito go, a faint smile on his face.

Early the next morning, Obito headed to school full of energy, without a trace of yesterday's dejection.

The classroom was already bustling. Kakashi sat in his seat with his usual cool expression, while several girls nearby stole glances at him and chattered away.

"Kakashi was amazing! He came first in yesterday's competition."

"Yeah. He always wears a mask, but judging by the shape of his face, he must be handsome."

"Kakashi's definitely going to be an excellent ninja."

Obito had just entered the classroom when he heard them. His good mood promptly soured.

Then he remembered what the Clan Head had told him yesterday. He was going to be Hokage one day. Why should he stoop to arguing with a subordinate?
