Jin nodded. Fugaku knew how to exercise restraint.
Since Jin had already realized Fugaku was behind this, there was no need to hide much of the plan from him. Doing so would only invite trouble.
Fugaku then told him what he and Takigawa had planned.
"If Sanada and Songren come to you first, play along. In this story, you're a villain, just like Takigawa.
"As for the details, improvise however you like. Just don't give away your involvement," Fugaku said.
Uchiha Jin sighed. "All right, Clan Head. Is this my punishment for speaking out of turn?
"I'm worried Sanada and Songren will come straight to the Security Force and fight me to the death, exposing my plot. Then I'll have a hard time explaining myself to the clan.
"And if word of this plan gets out, a lot of our people won't know what's real, what isn't, or whom to believe."
Fugaku nodded. "That could happen. If either of them contacts you, capture him quietly. Then reveal yourself to him. You can even put him through a little pain."
Jin nodded helplessly. "They'll hate me to the bone after that. Who knows how they'll get even?"
Fugaku smiled. "Once they awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan, they should thank you. Takigawa and the Patrol Ninjas should be on their way back to Konoha now. Take some ninja out to meet them. The badly wounded are Uchiha, after all.
"Make arrangements with Konoha Hospital. Once they enter the village, put them in separate rooms. Have Takigawa report to the Hokage's Office after his wounds are dressed. I'll be there too."
Jin nodded. "All right."
As Jin stepped out of the Security Force headquarters, his expression turned grave. "One squad, come with me outside the village."
"Yes."
A six-person Patrol Team appeared before Jin.
