"Especially that smug Kakashi. We sparred and fought to a draw. If the teacher hadn't stopped us, I don't think Kakashi could have beaten me."
"Well done, little Obito. Congratulations on finally showing your true strength. Awakening the Sharingan while you're still at the Ninja Academy makes you a rare talent even among the Uchiha.
"The future of the Uchiha belongs to young talents like you. You'll carry the clan forward."
Obito nodded firmly. Being valued like this warmed his heart. It felt good, and it made him proud.
After leaving Fugaku's house, Obito went straight to Back Mountain to train. Fugaku left home as well and headed into the village.
Since awakening the Rinnegan, his outlook had gradually changed. Many of his old ideas had shifted.
