Background and History
The Eldest Princess was raised as the emperor’s pampered younger sister. For twenty years, Luo Mingxi was publicly regarded as her daughter, though the princess never raised her and paid so little attention to her that servants mistreated her 11 12 13.
After learning that He Xueyi was her biological daughter, the princess went to Xuanyang Hall to demand that Mingxi lose her place in the imperial family. She declared that Mingxi had no royal blood and did not deserve the Luo surname. Mingxi offered to give up her identity, standing, and name, but rejected any claim the princess had over her life 12 13.
The princess returned with He Xueyi and objected when the emperor elevated Ming Xi to Princess Protector of the Realm. She argued that the honor should go to He Xueyi, whom she called Ming Lan. The emperor refused; after He Xueyi calmed her, the princess left resentful but ceased openly pursuing Ming Xi 14 15 16 17.

During her confrontation at Xuanyang Hall, the princess looked unwell, with excitement and resentment visible in her expression 12.
Personality
The princess places great importance on royal rank and blood ties. She resents Mingxi’s easy access to the emperor and believes the honors Mingxi received should have belonged to He Xueyi. She also envies Mingxi’s freedom and vitality—qualities she admires but has never felt she possessed herself 12 14.
She tends to seek the emperor’s help by crying before explaining her grievance. She trusts Consort Luo’s judgment, although he encourages her to confront the emperor while remaining out of the dispute himself 12 16.
