Chapter 683: I'll Handle It
After experiencing the Fog Maze, the group entering the Spring Labyrinth could not help but feel deeply moved.
This maze was unexpectedly bright and open, utterly lacking the usual gloom and oppression of a maze. There were no Monsters, either.
As they continued flying, they entered a city. The temperature was pleasant, the light was bright, and groups of Parasite Humans stood motionless on the ground.
Pei Xianjue sat on the Kite's back, carefully looking down. Seeing the streets packed with Parasite Humans, she sighed softly. "It looks like every resident in this entire city has been parasitized..."
"Not quite," Feng Ling said. "At first, we thought so too. Later, we discovered that many of the Parasite Humans looked exactly alike, and they weren't wearing clothes, so we guessed they were bred through Copying. Bodies can be copied and grown, but clothes can't be copied."
"...Copy breeding?" Pei Xianjue found it somewhat difficult to understand.
Feng Ling casually pointed at the climbing plants on a high-rise building. "Like those leaves. Every single one looks the same; the only differences are their sizes and shapes."
At first, Pei Xianjue had merely thought the vegetation here was exceptionally lush, with vast swaths of green and great clusters of flowers. Only after Feng Ling pointed it out did she realize that the plants were flourishing abnormally, their leaves nearly bursting from overcrowding.
Ye Zheng asked Feng Ling, "Why are we flying this way? Even Little Third Child refuses to eat parasitized flesh and blood. You definitely can't eat it either."
"There wasn't a suitable place to land in that forest just now. Miaomiao happens to be here, so I'll take her flying around. Maybe we can find a Safe House in the maze and let them rest," Feng
