A Note on the Paid Release

Dear readers, I have some news: this book will officially begin its paid release on September 9, 2026!

This is my first work to reach a paid release. As I write this note, I'm both excited and nervous. Having made it this far, I, Bai Wuyou, want to say this first and foremost: thank you for being here!

I touched briefly on why I wanted to write this Douluo fanfiction in the opening chapters. As a reader of Douluo Continent, I followed Tang San's perspective through the joys and sorrows of that world. But even after the story ended, some regrets stayed with me. Spirit Hall was one of them.

A force that shaped the fates of countless soul masters ultimately fell. I've always felt there was more to tell about it. That doesn't mean I intend to rewrite Spirit Hall's ultimate fate outright. What I want to write about is the people within it. In the face of events beyond their control, did they have other choices? Was there still time to make up for some regrets?

Chu Heng's story began with those questions.

I want him to make his own judgments and choices, to face the costs he must pay, and to have people worth protecting with everything he has. He may not be able to undo every regret, but when it comes to the people and things he cares about, he'll fight for a better ending. If, at some important moment, you think, "Yes, that's exactly what Chu Heng would do," I'll be more than satisfied.

I also want to thank everyone who has bookmarked the story, kept up with it, voted, or left a comment. Every morning, I can't help checking whether the bookmark count has gone up, whether there are new comments, and whether anyone wants to share their thoughts on the plot and characters. When I see you discussing where Chu Heng might go next, I feel as though more people are getting to know and care about the person I've written.

For someone reaching a paid release for the first time, that encouragement means a lot. It gives me so much more to look forward to when I sit alone at my screen and write.

I still have plenty to learn and polish as a writer. I'll read your feedback carefully and put my heart into the chapters ahead. I hope that as Chu Heng grows step by step, I'll keep getting better at telling his story.
