Background and History

Chu Heng was reborn on Douluo Continent and grew up in Holy Soul Village in an ordinary family. He initially intended to avoid the dangers surrounding Tang San’s story. After the Plot Check-In System activated on his fifth birthday, he reconsidered: it rewarded him for taking part in or witnessing major events, and he saw Spirit Hall as a path that did not require joining Tang San’s circle 1 44.

At six, he awakened two Martial Souls: the publicly revealed Gun Soul and a concealed second soul, Heart of Technology. Spirit Hall deacon Su Yuntao measured his innate Soul Power at level seven and invited him to the Nott City branch. Chu Heng accepted after spending time with his parents and completing a story quest in the village 2 3.

In Nott City, he became a Directly Nurtured Disciple. Su Xianling took charge of his training and accepted him as her little brother rather than a formal disciple. She later brought him to Spirit City, where her teacher, the Fifth Worshipper Guang Ling Douluo, accepted Chu Heng as his own disciple. Guang Ling subsequently assigned much of Chu Heng’s instruction to Su Xianling 5 6 45 47.

Appearance

Long-term training made Chu Heng taller and sturdier than when he first arrived in Nott City 39.

• He wears a Spirit Hall uniform during his visit to Nott City Junior Soul Master Academy, revealing his affiliation to Xiao Wu 33.

Personality

Chu Heng is ambitious but guarded. He pursues system rewards and training opportunities while concealing his second Martial Soul, unusually rapid growth, and the full capabilities of his Gun Soul when disclosure could put him at risk 3 5 29.

His caution does not prevent him from taking risks for others. He helps Tang San against a Mandrake Snake, stops a crossbow attack at the academy, and challenges men intimidating an elderly shopkeeper. After the latter incident, he asks that the attackers’ conduct be investigated rather than simply accepting his own release 20 34 48 50.

Abilities and Skills

Gun Soul and Ever-Changing

The Gun Soul is an unusual Tool Martial Soul that initially lacks a stable, usable form. Its first soul skill, Ever-Changing, gives it several firearm forms 2 13 26.

• Handgun: Fires Soul Power-powered shots; spending more Soul Power increases their strength. At level twelve, Chu Heng can put up to 50 points into one shot 25.
• Rifle: Fires rapid volleys of individually weaker bullets. A demonstrated 30-round volley costs 60 Soul Power points, plus five to change forms 26.
• Grenade launcher: Fires explosive rounds with area effects. It requires at least five points to fire and can take up to 120 points for one shot, though Chu Heng does not casually test it at full power 26 29.
• Sniper rifle: A fourth form that Chu Heng keeps hidden rather than demonstrate before he can test it properly 26 29.
• Limit: Changing forms takes time, during which he cannot use his Martial Soul 26.

Precise Bullet Mark

His second soul skill enhances only the handgun form 40.

• Marks a target’s weak points and makes shots faster, quieter, and more accurate 40 44.
