"And those successive explosions made a tremendous racket."
"Spirit Hall's scouts will hear about it and come soon."
"I'm not strong enough yet. I can't reveal my special combat abilities too early and draw Spirit Hall's attention."
Qin Yun continued, holding the Soul Bone.
"We've accomplished the main purpose of this trip."
"We have the Soul Bone, and the Blue Silver Emperor has been transplanted. We've gained more than enough from this visit to Holy Soul Village."
"We shouldn't stay here. Let's return to the sect at once."
As soon as he finished speaking,
Soul Power surged through the sword beneath Chen Xin's feet. Carrying them both, it became a streak of light that raced back toward the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect in Heaven Dou City.
The round trip had taken little more than two days.
Heaven Dou City remained peaceful.
No one noticed that Sword Douluo had slipped out of the city and quietly returned.
Back at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect,
Qin Yun went to his courtyard to rest and recover from the journey.
Sword Douluo headed straight for Sect Master Ning Fengzhi's study.
He gave Ning Fengzhi a detailed account of everything that had happened in Holy Soul Village.
Most importantly, he recounted the terrifying power of Qin Yun's Uranium Crystal Fission: the successive blasts that had gravely wounded Tang Hao and forced Clear Sky Douluo to flee in disgrace.
He told the whole story without concealing a thing.
In the study, Ning Fengzhi listened quietly.
Surprise kept flashing across his face. His fingertips tapped the desk unconsciously as his thoughts churned.
When Chen Xin finished, he remained silent for a long time before finally looking up.
A little later, he went to find Qin Yun.
He arrived at Qin Yun's courtyard.
Ning Fengzhi asked softly,
"Xiao Qin, Uncle Sword told me what happened."
"That Uranium Crystal of yours can unleash enough power to gravely wound a Titled Douluo?"
"What kind of extraordinary treasure is it?"
"Why has no record of it ever appeared in the continent's texts?"
Qin Yun had prepared an explanation and answered calmly.
"Uncle Ning, Uranium Crystal has an unusual structure. It doesn't belong to any known category of soul master resources, and ordinary Soul Power can't activate it."
"So far, only my Elemental Martial Soul can precisely trigger the fission energy within it."
"Even if someone else obtained it, it would be no more useful to them than a rock."
He paused, then added,
"But it has enormous potential. As my Martial Soul evolves and I grow stronger, I may discover other ways to activate it and unlock greater power and new uses."
"For now, though, I'm the only one who can control it."
Ning Fengzhi understood.
He marveled all the more at Qin Yun's remarkable fortune and the power he had kept in reserve, and could not help saying,
"Since it's an opportunity meant for you alone, I won't ask further."
"You've worn yourself out with the journey and the fighting. Get some proper rest."
Qin Yun cupped his hands in farewell and took his leave of Ning Fengzhi.
He rested for a day.
At dawn the next morning,
Qin Yun gently held the Blue Silver Emperor in his palm and set out for the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.
This time, Ning Fengzhi assigned a level 86 Soul Douluo to accompany and protect him.
Once they arrived,
Qin Yun crouched and carefully straightened the Blue Silver Emperor's spreading green vines.
Then he slowly settled the entire plant into the soft, fertile soil beside the Spirit Spring, where spiritual energy was abundant.
He covered the roots layer by layer and gently firmed the soil, completing the transplant.
As if grateful for his care,
the newly rooted Blue Silver Emperor swayed her leaves.
Her soft young vines curled around Qin Yun's wrist and brushed against him affectionately.
Qin Yun then took out some high-purity nutrient solution and specially prepared fertilizer.
He spread them evenly around her roots, using his gentle elemental Soul Power to help them seep into the soil.
The Blue Silver Emperor's roots absorbed every bit of the rich nutrients.
Her leaves grew greener and more luminous.
The Blue Silver Emperor settled into her new surroundings, growing more vigorous by the moment.
With the Blue Silver Emperor settled,
Qin Yun decided to absorb the Hundred Thousand Year Blue Silver Emperor Leg Bone.
A Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone was one of the continent's greatest treasures, but absorbing one was no easy task.
Qin Yun, however, had advantages few could match. His Elemental Martial Soul was highly adaptable, and immortal herbs had already tempered his body far beyond others at his level.
He sat cross-legged at the heart of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, where spiritual energy was thickest. The mingling currents of warmth and cold gathered around him, forming a gentle barrier.
He took out the Soul Bone. Azure light flowed across its surface.
Qin Yun pressed it against the meridians of his right leg, closed his eyes, steadied his mind, and slowed his breathing.
He wrapped the Soul Bone in his Soul Power and began to absorb it.
The next moment, a vast surge of life-infused Soul Power poured from the bone. It spread through the flesh and meridians of his right leg, then flowed throughout his body.
Warmth filled Qin Yun from head to toe. His muscles and bones relaxed, and his blood flowed freely.
Meanwhile, the Blue Silver Emperor rooted nearby seemed to sense a resonance with the Soul Power of her own kind.
Her leaves swayed, and her vines gently wound around Qin Yun.
She even helped him smooth out his turbulent Soul Power, speeding up the fusion.
With her help, the absorption proceeded more smoothly, and the Soul Bone's energy fused with him far faster.
The fusion left no trace of incompatibility and caused no backlash.
Qin Yun's Soul Power rose from level 47, leaping two levels to settle firmly at level 49.
That was not all. A vast reserve of medicinal power from the two finest immortal herbs he had consumed still lay hidden in his body and meridians, not yet fully refined.
Now, the immense surge from absorbing the Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone gave it an opening.
All that remaining medicinal power broke free and merged with the Soul Bone's energy and his own Soul Power.
It continued to nourish his body and raise his cultivation.
Over the next three days, Qin Yun devoted himself to refining it.
At last, he broke through the bottleneck and reached Level 50 Soul King.
Once he was done,
Qin Yun looked toward the cultivation plot on the other side of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.
His gaze settled on the spirit herbs he had transplanted there earlier.
Combining the well's opposing energies, he had conducted a "directed mutation experiment" on these relatively ordinary herbs.
He wanted to test how heavy-metal radiation energy would alter plants.
The results were now plain to see.
The cultivation plot had split into two starkly different outcomes.
Half the spirit herbs could not withstand the unfamiliar, overpowering radiation.
Their life force fell into chaos. Their roots and stems dried and blackened, their leaves curled and cracked, and the plants withered completely. They had become worthless for cultivation.
The few surviving Lingzhi, however, had undergone a remarkable beneficial mutation.
Their caps were thick and full, their color a deep crimson. A faint glow played across their surfaces, and their spiritual energy was far denser than before.
Qin Yun bent down to examine them and touched one with his fingertips.
He could clearly sense that the altered Spirit Plants had taken a great leap in both vitality and medicinal potency.
Looking at the stark contrast between the dead herbs and the thriving Lingzhi,
Qin Yun understood. He had begun to grasp the rules governing radiation-induced change.
Weak, ordinary plants could not survive the ordeal of mutation.
Only Spirit Plants with a strong foundation could endure it and emerge transformed.
