Ning Fengzhi combines concern for his family and sect with political caution. He initially doubts that the pagoda’s seven-level limit can be broken and suggests giving Qin Yun’s immortal herb to Rongrong instead. Once Qin Yun’s inventions prove their value, he supports him without demanding every detail of his plans 32 44 66.

He is also willing to use secrecy and leverage against stronger rivals. He considers redirecting Spirit Hall’s attention toward the Clear Sky Sect, conceals Qin Yun’s role in detecting Qian Daoliu, and gives investigators a carefully limited account of Qin Yun’s disappearance 68 119 120.
