At that point, Yurian's projection suddenly blurred. It flickered a few times, then vanished into the air.
Just then, the GUTS communicator rang. An urgent video call appeared, showing a tense staff member from the TPC South America Branch. "Report! A monster has appeared in South America!"
The feed showed a huge monster soaring through the South American sky. Its body was silvery white, its enormous wings covered in hard scales. It had a pointed head and crimson eyes.
Once Yazumi used technology to pinpoint the Pyramid's location, GUTS immediately set out to find it.
The footage shifted back to Golza.
Golza had emerged from underground again, moving faster than before. Its crimson eyes fixed on the distance as it headed swiftly toward the Pyramid. Every step shook the earth, sending cracks spreading across the ground.
The scene changed again, this time to a vast military base.
Built against a mountain, the base was surrounded by fortifications that resembled crouching beasts. Large numbers of uniformed soldiers hurried through it. In the command center, a huge screen clearly displayed Golza's route and live position. Staff worked rapidly at their instruments and reported incoming data. The entire base was operating at full capacity, the tension almost unbearable.
"General! Monster Golza is less than a hundred kilometers from Golden Mountain City!"
The moment the report came in, a middle-aged man in a general's uniform slowly rose. He picked up a radio and gave his orders. "Pass this on immediately! Scramble every fighter and bomber at Dongshan Base and with the Haixi Fleet to intercept Golza! Have Dongshan Base fire twenty-four High-Explosive Shells at the target first to test its defenses. Order the Baiyun Destroyer and Nanhe Destroyer of the Haixi Fleet to fire twenty-four Armor-Piercing Shells at the target!"
"Yes, General!" the reporting officers answered in unison. They immediately worked their instruments to relay his orders.
With the general's orders issued, the entire military base sprang into action.
The view switched to Dongshan Base. Fighters and bombers took off one after another, while the lids of missile silos slowly opened, revealing cold, silvery-white missiles inside.
Then twenty-four High-Explosive Shells, each thirteen meters long and 1.5 meters in diameter, ignited in succession. Amid thunderous roars, the missiles shot from their silos like arrows from a bow, trailing long tails of flame as they sped toward Golza. They soon vanished beyond the horizon.
The view changed again. Aircraft carriers, destroyers, frigates, and other warships of the Haixi Fleet sailed across the open sea. Their massive hulls made for a magnificent sight, far beyond anything the ships of Douluo Continent could match.
At the order, fighters took off in succession from the carrier decks, their wings slicing through the sky as they roared toward the Mongolian Plain. Aboard the Baiyun Destroyer and Nanhe Destroyer, missile launchers rose slowly. Twenty-four Armor-Piercing Shells, each eighteen meters long and 1.2 meters in diameter, ignited and launched toward Golza with a roar.
Over a hundred warplanes soared through the sky. Dozens of missiles streaked toward Golza with long trails of flame. It was a spectacular sight.
Watching from the Heaven Dou Empire's temporary outdoor council square, Xue Ye stared at the Sky Curtain in shock. Admiration and envy edged his voice. "This world's soldiers are exceptionally well trained. They obey orders without hesitation and respond quickly. They surpass our Heaven Dou Empire's army by more than a little."
Marshal Golong stood beside him and nodded slightly in agreement.
"Your Majesty is right. And they can communicate seamlessly across thousands of miles. Whether within the base or with distant fleets and warplanes, their communications are remarkably smooth. If the Heaven Dou Empire had such a means of communication, our army's combat strength would at least double. Both military campaigns and border defense would become far more efficient."
Another minister hurried to add, his voice full of longing, "Indeed. If our administration could use that means of communication too, its efficiency and our control over the country would improve enormously."
"Whether issuing decrees or handling local emergencies, we could save vast amounts of time and manpower. We would no longer have to rely on relay stations to carry messages, which can take over a month."
"Yes. If we could communicate across thousands of miles, those kingdoms would never have been able to break away."
Xue Ye nodded too, regret showing on his face.
Marshal Golong shook his head gently.
"A pity their weapons are too weak. Those two attacks earlier didn't even tear up the ground. These iron contraptions they call 'missiles' look impressive, but I doubt they're very powerful. They probably can't defeat that monster with them."
In his view, a weapon without Soul Power behind it could only do so much damage, however impressive it looked.
Just then, Qian Renxue, disguised as Xue Qinghe, spoke up. "Marshal Golong, you can't be so sure. Their weapons may not be weak. Even if those iron contraptions they call missiles were nothing but solid metal, an impact at that speed would be formidable."
Qian Renxue possessed the Seraphim Martial Soul and could fly freely, so she had her own sense of the missiles' speed.
The missiles on the Sky Curtain were enormous. If they were solid, each would likely weigh more than fifty thousand kilograms, and they flew at least ten times faster than she could.
At that speed, given their weight, even a simple collision might be more than an ordinary Titled Douluo could withstand.
At the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect!
Ning Fengzhi stared intently at the Sky Curtain, his expression grave.
Beside him, Sword Douluo Chen Xin and Bone Douluo Gu Rong also watched closely, each wearing a different expression.
When the missile launches appeared on the Sky Curtain, Ning Fengzhi raised a hand slightly and turned to Bone Douluo Gu Rong. "Uncle Bone, you're a defense-type Soul Master, and you can fly. How powerful do you think those missiles are?"
Bone Douluo Gu Rong slowly shook his head. His expression grew grave, and there was wariness in his voice. "If that much steel were solid, it would weigh at least a hundred to a hundred and fifty thousand kilograms. Combined with that tremendous speed, the force of impact would be difficult even for me to withstand. At best, I'd be gravely injured. At worst, I'd die."
