Zhao Donglai looked at her. His lips moved, and after a long pause, he murmured, "I'm sorry," before leaving.
Once he was gone, Chen Deng Deng hurried over. "Yin Xing, isn't Zhao Donglai remarrying awfully fast? And why did he bring us invitations?"
"Don't you get it? He wants us to tell Song Mei," a nurse beside her whispered. "Otherwise, why would he come all this way to invite people he barely knows? Still, he's pretty honest. He actually told the woman he can't have children."
"Oh, so that's it."
Understanding dawned on Chen Deng Deng. "Are we going, then?"
Gu Yinxing tapped her on the head. "What would we go for? We're busy enough as it is. Besides, you can't attend a wedding banquet without bringing a cash gift."
"That's true." Chen Deng Deng nodded. "Then we won't go. Actually, this marriage might suit him pretty well."
Gu Yinxing thought so too.
People shouldn't hide things before getting married. They ought to be clear about their family circumstances and their own situation. She had heard that Song Mei had squeezed quite a bit of money out of the Zhao Family over the years. As far as she was concerned, the Zhao Family had brought it on themselves.
Their son couldn't have children, yet they had deceived Song Mei into marrying him. With that secret to hold over their heads, she had kept them under her thumb all these years.
If they had faced reality from the start and looked for someone whose circumstances matched theirs, why would they have had to suffer so much?
