Mo Bai joined Star Torch Academy, formed bonds with Lynae and Rover, and helped them defeat the Voidworm threatening the Academy. Lynae was allowed to return to her studies, while Mo Bai began his Candidate training and rode out to summon another Shikigami.

• The Goddess sent Mo Bai to another world with the Ten Shadows Technique, and he tamed Nue before Lynae and Rover found him injured.
• Mo Bai enrolled at Star Torch Academy with Rover’s recommendation, learned about Solaris and its Candidates, and met Professor Mornye at the Research Institute.
• When Haiveisha went berserk, Mo Bai and Rover helped Lynae, who was exposed as an impostor using the identity of a dead Remnant Star Society agent.
• Lynae asked Rover to help investigate the Remnant Star Society, while Mo Bai refused to join until he regretted turning down his friends’ invitation.
• The Voidworm turned toward Star Torch Academy, and Mo Bai joined Lynae and Rover in trying to lure it away and stop it.
• Mo Bai’s summons helped injure the Voidworm, and Lynae destroyed it by driving her bomb-filled Motorcycle into its throat.
• Rover caught Lynae as she fell, and the three returned to a heroes’ welcome, and the Academy later let Lynae resume her studies on probation.

Mo Bai confronted his inner darkness, helped Moqu recover his confidence, and found a place among the Academy’s students. When he and Lynae discovered a Remnant Star Society operation, Mo Bai fought the Society’s forces and trapped its President in his Domain.

• Mo Bai trained by subjugating the Toad and Great Serpent Shikigami, then sparred with the Rover and learned to rethink how he used his Ten Shadows Technique.
• Mo Bai cleared Holographic Five against Impermanence Heron, but an outside force disrupted his domain and left him unable to summon Shikigami.
• Mo Bai entered the Academy’s Dark Side to find Moqu, battled Mo Hei, and accepted him as part of himself, restoring his Cursed Energy.
• Mo Bai rescued Moqu from a barrier and helped him put on a play, while the Rover and students defended Mo Bai during the Academy’s inquiry into the Sonoro incident.
• Mo Bai and Lynae found a student spy trapped in a Voidmatter Magnetic Storm and uncovered an empty jar-shaped container.
• Mo Bai fought the Remnant Star Society’s Artificers, killed them when Owl Mask hesitated, and faced the Society’s President.
• Mo Bai summoned Tengshe against the President, then trapped him inside Chimera Shadow Garden.

Mo Bai investigated Remnant Star Society influence at Star Torch Academy, killed Verlaine, and was drawn into a battle with Scar after the Society transported him to a separate space. With his domain destroyed and his Cursed Technique unavailable, Mo Bai relied on Rover’s intervention to help stop Scar.

• Mo Bai defeated the President, rejected the Remnant Star Society’s offer, and returned to Star Torch Academy with Rover.
• Mo Bai subdued Max Elephant, Rabbit Escape, and Piercing Ox, then reconsidered his readiness to kill after Rover showed him the truth about the Drifters.
• Mo Bai discovered that Academy members had been altered by the Remnant Star Society and agreed to help Mornye gather evidence against Verlaine.
• Mo Bai copied Verlaine’s data, presented evidence to the professors, and killed Verlaine after Verlaine attacked him with a gun.
• The President’s agents transported Mo Bai to the desert, where he defeated the Furnace Core Mech Abomination before a portal pulled him away from Rover.
• Mo Bai fought Scar in a desolate separate space, landed a Black Flash, and activated Chimera Shadow Garden as Scar transformed into a demonlike Overseer.
• An outside force destroyed Mo Bai’s domain, and Rover entered the space as Scar tried to escape through a portal.
• Mo Bai challenged Scar to continue fighting, endured his attacks without using summons or dodging, and drew his attention while Rover halted him with Time Comes to an End.

Mo Bai trained under Gabriella, grew stronger, and faced her in a final exam before she left. After meeting Aemeath and hearing her doubts about Rover, Mo Bai asked Rover what she thought of him, and she reaffirmed their friendship while leaving him to work through his worries.

• Rover brought Mo Bai to Lu Hess after the fight with Scar, and Mornye later took him stargazing before he began training Reverse Cursed Technique with Mo Hei.
• Gabriella arrived to train Mo Bai, tested him in combat, and toured Star Torch Academy with him as they grew closer.
• Gabriella taught Mo Bai about the Rover and helped him follow classes and training, then announced she would leave after giving him an exam.
• Mo Bai used Chimera Shadow Garden and his fused Shikigami against Gabriella, who praised his growth before giving him back the Scorching Shell Credit and flying away as Angel.
• After Gabriella left, Mo Bai met Aemeath, who asked how he felt about Rover and urged him to consider his place in her life.
• Rover told Mo Bai that something in Lahai Luo had swallowed part of her frequency and invited him to talk in his dorm room.
• Mo Bai asked Rover what she thought of him, and she called him a very good person and reminded him that they were friends.
