On Midwinter, Aaron and his family were still preparing for the festivities.
Aaron even made a rare appearance in the kitchen himself. He had risen early to prepare the ingredients for three dishes: Russian-Style Roasted Ribs, Russian-Style Borscht, and Russian-Style Apple-Braised Chicken.
Aaron rarely cooked personally, mostly because there was no need. In the past, he had occasionally needed to practice to keep his skills from getting rusty, but even that had ceased to be an issue after he became the young lady's apprentice.
And so, this was how things usually went at home: Mellie, Eleanor, and Aaron bustled around the kitchen, while Uncle Lothair lent the three of them a hand now and then.
As for the young lady? She always sat on the sofa or curled up in her room, waiting to be fed.
