The Church of the Silver Mother in Suzail was still bustling with visitors. People gathered in crowds, jostling to pay their respects to the goddess Selûne during the New Year holiday and pray for her blessings and protection.

Men and women of all ages came and went, but women remained the mainstay of the Church of Selûne, from toddlers of two or three to elderly ladies in their eighties and nineties.

Selûne's holy days did not fall during the New Year season. The Lady of Silver had two holy days each year. The first was the annual "Second-Month Prayer," held on Shieldmeet after Midsummer Night and before July 1. According to the calendar of the Realms, a leap day was added after the last day of June every four years, so the date was not fixed.

The second holy day fell on a full moon or a new moon each year. Known as the Night of the Sacred Rites, it was a night when fortunate clerics received Selûne's summons to enter her divine realm and speak with the goddess herself.

Today, Miss Eleanor Dinefleur, who had recently been elevated to "Moon-Bathed," sat daydreaming in her room inside the temple of the Church of Selûne. She wore a cozy, snow-fleece mermaid dress in frosty white, with a white fox-fur coat over it, thick moon-white tights, and a pair of creamy-white suede deerskin ankle boots. Her bright golden hair had been restyled into a thick braid hanging down her back, and she no longer wore a mask.
