On the land beneath the twilight sky, a strangely assorted band of adventurers was fighting a group of Ork cavalry.
The adventurers were a motley group: Paladins, a squad of private family troops, and several noncombatants in military uniforms. The only thing they had in common was their battered state. Bodies littered the ground, and the Orks' roars were growing louder.
"Look!"
Disma pointed into the distance from the treetop. "Damn it, Aaron, Reynard and his people are in trouble! We have to help!"
"My senior? Didn't he join the Paladin corps and go with Lady Laeral?" Aaron narrowed his eyes.
Reynard was both a Paladin and a soldier. Why was he here?
There was no time to dwell on that.
Aaron immediately began issuing orders.
"Eleanor, divine magic!" Aaron had already summoned Tzeentch's Disk. The Child of Chaos leaped aboard as he gave his next command. "Disma, Maximian, advance!"
Spell after spell settled over Aaron. He drew the Sword of the Dark Moon and narrowed his eyes, his Chaos magic ready to unleash. Disma and Maximian both nodded and prepared for battle. Eleanor was blessing everyone with divine magic, while Robert and Varo were best suited to cheering them on.
The blades around the Disk's rim spun rapidly. Under Aaron's rather unpracticed control, Tzeentch's Disk shot into the sky so swiftly that he nearly lost his balance. The air rushed past him. As he sped forward, Aaron soon saw just how many Orks were besieging Reynard and his companions. The clearing in the ravaged forest resembled a yellow blotch on the earth, now swallowed by a green tide. Ork wolf riders and boar riders had encircled a small band of humans, and harsh drumbeats rang out everywhere.
