What better way was there to demonstrate his power than to slay a deity's avatar before a gathering of Chosen, divinely favored champions, Quasi-Deities, and even other divine avatars?
From the very beginning, Aaron had intended to use the grand performance of "The Fourth Wall" and six volumes of Salian's Nine Books to construct an elaborate trap, lure a powerful enemy into it, and send that enemy straight to their grave.
The grand scheme constructed through Tzeentch's power was nothing if not meticulous. It accounted for every possible development, and Aaron had devised dozens of plans based on who attended and who made the first move.
Thus, from the moment the guests entered the Silvermoon Grand Theater, Aaron's plan had already begun. Whether it was the Stormlord or Szass Tam, Ravok or Mephistopheles, Lord of the Eighth Hell, someone was bound to try to seize Salian's Nine Books.
Every unexpected development had, in fact, already been accounted for.
The only person who truly exceeded Aaron's calculations was his Dark Elf Sister, Nastya. Szass Tam's attack had not gone beyond his expectations. However powerful the leader of the Red Wizards might be, could he possibly surpass Aaron within the Chaos Domain, with the Four Gods backing him?
As for Elminster and the others escaping, that was merely a minor diversion. It did not affect the grand plan.
Nastya's appearance, however, had made Aaron realize something.
The Spider Queen-Lolth-had joined this game too!
Lolth had likewise dispatched Nastya to seize the Salian scrolls. Not only had the Spider Queen manipulated his Dark Elf Sister from behind the scenes, she had even used magic to make her forget that objective. Nastya had already seized Salian's Sixth Book, yet she did not remember doing so. She did not even remember why she had come.
