Charlotte knew that the Song of Night before her almost certainly wasn't very bright. Seeing her sincerity and desperate urgency, the young lady instinctively felt she was telling the truth.

The young lady studied her surroundings.
The formation sealing the Song of Night was circular. Its outer layer of shadow energy prevented her from receiving any outside power, while the formation within consisted of smaller rings arranged in a six-pointed star and countless inscriptions. These sealed the Song of Night's own power and continuously drained her Aasimar bloodline power, sending it elsewhere.
She had to break this seal! But how?
Charlotte noticed the ruined buildings around them-the floating landmass hung from more than a dozen enormous iron chains in the lightless sky of the Shadowfell. Among the crumbling walls, she could still make out structures resembling ancient altars. Two rows of headless statues held ancient ritual implements, swords, axes, and hammers.
The young lady quickly noticed a black gem clutched by one of the statues. It was the only object among the two rows of headless statues from which Charlotte could sense a powerful energy. She could also feel the countless connections between the gem and the Song of Night.
The instant the young lady noticed the black gem, Shar's voice rang out overhead.
"So you would rather believe this Aasimar's nonsense, believe my useless sister, set aside your pride and dignity and struggle to communicate with this brainless, ill-tempered fool, than believe that I can reveal the secret of your origins."
