On the first day of November, 1365 Dalereckoning, Alusair, Princess Regent of Cormyr, led the Purple Dragon Knights into Elf Hill Camp.

In the faint light of dawn, Alusair was the first to ride her warhorse into the camp. The Princess Regent was fully armed, her long golden hair pinned up beneath her father's helmet. Over her supernatural armor, a surcoat bearing the Purple Dragon heraldry concealed her graceful figure. Only the majesty and dominance in her blood-red eyes remained unmistakable.

A large gathering of local Suzail nobles stood before the camp gates. They had all changed into their formal attire, adorned with assorted mink furs, pompoms, and coronets, glittering with jewels and splendid finery.

Alusair glanced at the local Suzail nobles, a strange feeling stirring within her.

If one said these nobles were useful, most of them, like Aaron once had been, had fallen so far that they barely held any positions with actual authority. All they had left were honorary titles, and they lived off ancestral estates and court stipends. They were plainly a burden on the kingdom.

Yet if one said they were truly useless, they had sold off their family property to make it to the front, all for a chance to prove that they still had something to offer the kingdom. On that count alone, they were indeed patriotic.

"Those who enjoy first-class status should also be the first to charge forward when their country is in peril." Aaron's words echoed in Alusair's ears.

Previously, Alusair had always resented these parasites in Suzail. Today, however, she felt that some of them might still be worth employing if they could display courage like this. Perhaps they had
