The invention of Ioulaum's Longevity had granted Archmages near-infinite lifespans as well.
Naturally, with near-infinite lives and unlimited access to the Weave, every Archmage was an expert at courting death. Most spent their idle days dreaming up outrageous experiments, stirring up trouble, or fighting one another. Despite their staggering mortality rate, their numbers continued to climb.
Perhaps, in the Archmages' eyes, Aaron's status as the Lord of Reincarnation merely made him an exceptionally powerful being who could invent his own spells, much like Ioulaum. That did not necessarily make him utterly supreme.
