As the Third Shinobi World War drew closer, Kazan used his immense physical strength and Shadow Clones to defeat Kakashi, Jing Uchiha, and Asuka Hyuga, drawing Hiruzen Sarutobi’s attention. Hiruzen began training Kazan and granted him early graduation, then entered him in the Chunin Exams to help Konoha gain allies as Kurenai worried about the danger.

• Kazan passed the Clone Technique exam and resolved to become strong enough to survive the approaching war, while he and Might Guy trained and Kurenai remembered how Kazan had once saved her from a dog.
