Kazan defeated Madara Uchiha’s forces in Konoha, became Fifth Hokage, and negotiated support from the Sand Shinobi and Mist Ninja as Madara hunted the tailed beasts. The Five Great Shinobi Villages gathered in Konoha to form an Allied Shinobi Forces, while Kazan warned the Kage that the war against Madara would be worse than the previous wars.

• Kazan fought Madara Uchiha and Jing Uchiha, while Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju joined the battle, and Madara revived himself, killed Jing, and clashed with Kazan as his clone captured tailed beasts and devastated Konoha.
• Kazan pursued Madara for six days, then returned to help rebuild Konoha and agreed to become Hokage after Minato Namikaze announced his retirement.
• Kazan and Tobirama Senju secured a seventy-year compensation agreement from the Sand Shinobi and Mist Ninja, while Madara attacked Iwagakure and Kumogakure to capture more tailed beasts.
• Kazan met the Land of Fire daimyo, who pledged supplies for the coming war, and Kazan was inaugurated as Konoha’s Fifth Hokage.
• Kazan summoned the other village leaders to a Five Kage Summit as Madara recruited Kabuto Yakushi, who revealed an army of reanimated ninja.
• The Kage and their delegations arrived in Konoha, where Kazan prepared the village for the summit and Sasuke, Sakura Haruno, and Shikamaru Nara discussed the younger generation’s role in the war.
• At the summit, Kazan rejected the other Kage’s complaints about his past actions and warned them that the coming war would surpass the previous three and that Madara Uchiha would not listen to reason.

Kazan united the Five Great Shinobi Villages and led the Allied Shinobi Forces against Madara and the reincarnated Kage. After Madara became Kaguya, Kazan pursued her across dimensions and prepared a powerful sword technique to finish the fight.

• Kazan forced the Fourth Raikage to accept the alliance, and all five Kage formed the Allied Shinobi Forces before Madara declared war.
• The allied army mobilized as Hashirama urged the villages to unite, then the forces clashed with the reincarnated Kage and White Zetsu.
• Mifune defeated Hanzō by reminding him of his abandoned conviction for peace, and the allied forces received word of Hanzō’s defeat.
• Madara transformed the Ten-Tails into the God Tree, whose roots drained chakra across the battlefield, while the Hokage fought to stop him.
• Kazan confronted Madara, opened all Eight Gates, and overwhelmed him until Black Zetsu betrayed Madara and used him to revive Kaguya through Infinite Tsukuyomi.
• Kazan challenged Kaguya in her lava dimension, overpowering her attacks and pursuing her when she escaped through portals.
• Kazan followed Kaguya through frozen and desert dimensions, wounded her with his Black Blade and Haki, and announced One Sword Style: Great Earthquake.
