Personal Disciple of the Sorcerer Supreme, Triggering the Omniscient Aura Right at the Start!
Raine watched Kaecilius with an earnest expression, sending a wave of bitter agony through Mordo's heart.
It was not that he did not want to teach.
He genuinely had nothing left to teach!
Most Sorcerers in Kamar-Taj found that mastering a few spells was enough to last them a lifetime.
He, Mordo, was already considered quite knowledgeable.
Yet compared to Raine, he was absolute crap!
This brat was practically about to strip him down to his underwear!
Mordo took a deep breath, his tone very earnest. "Raine. It is not that I am hoarding my knowledge. It is that you have completely graduated now. You thoroughly figured out Master-level spells long ago. I truly have nothing left to teach you."
Raine started to speak, then stopped. "Master, but..."
Mordo quickly raised a hand to interrupt. "I understand. You yearn to master deeper cosmic mysteries. Rest assured, I have already thought of a way out for you."
"What way out?" Raine's eyes lit up.
"Ask the Sorcerer Supreme for help."
Mordo smiled with a sense of relief. "The Sorcerer Supreme just finished dealing with her matters, and she will return to the mountain tomorrow. By then, I will personally recommend you to her."
Raine hesitated slightly. "Would the Sorcerer Supreme be willing to see me?"
"Rest assured, one hundred percent yes." Mordo guaranteed, "Given your talent, the Sorcerer Supreme will surely guide you personally. No need to worry blindly."
"Many thanks, Master Mordo!" Raine was full of gratitude.
Mordo waved a hand. "This is the resource you deserve. Kamar-Taj never buries true geniuses."
Watching Raine's sincere expression of gratitude, Mordo felt utterly ecstatic inside.
He needed to send this monstrous talent away quickly!
If he kept teaching him, he feared he wouldn't even be able to spark a single flame in the future and would be beaten to death by the sheer blow to his ego.
Kamar-Taj, core portal hub.
The magic arrays of the Three Sanctums shone without cease day and night.
Today, the central hub suddenly began to operate automatically.
Amidst swirling golden light, a slender figure stepped out through a portal.
The newcomer wore a plain white robe and sported a completely bald head.
Her entire body seemed devoid of any magical fluctuations at first glance, but a pair of eyes were deep and vast, as if they contained the wisdom of the entire universe.
Passing battle sorcerers stopped in their tracks one after another, lowering their heads in salute with incomparably respectful postures.
The Sorcerer Supreme, The Ancient One.
Having hunted down the traitor Kaecilius for several months, this pillar of Kamar-Taj had finally returned to the mountain.
Looking at the orderly Sanctum, a trace of gratification flashed in the depths of The Ancient One's eyes.
She walked with light steps, directly entering the central hall.
Just as she stepped through the door, she saw Mordo standing in the middle of the hall, lowering his head in deep thought.
Hearing footsteps, Mordo snapped his head up, his face revealing wild joy. "Sorcerer Supreme, you have returned!"
As long as The Ancient One was holding down the fort, he wouldn't panic even if the sky fell.
The Ancient One nodded slightly. "Mordo, you handled the matters in New York very well."
On her way back, she had already perceived the direction of the battle.
Defending against the alien fleet was precisely the bounden duty of sorcerers, and to fight it with zero casualties meant her command was indeed commendable.
"I merely did some minor work, it was all thanks to the desperate efforts of several Masters." Mordo's attitude was humble.
The Ancient One walked to the master seat and sat down, picked up a teacup and took a small sip, then waved a hand to signal Mordo to be seated.
"Have there been any fresh occurrences in the sect recently?" The Ancient One asked casually.
Mordo's eyes lit up, and he hurriedly chimed in. "No troublesome matters. However, there is quite an interesting occurrence."
"Oh?" The Ancient One grew interested.
Mordo had always been rigid and steady, so for even him to find something interesting, it surely was not simple.
"Our Kamar-Taj has produced a peerless genius." Mordo paused, shaking his head repeatedly. "No, he cannot be called a genius, he is simply a monster."
The Ancient One's hand holding the tea paused slightly, and she cast a surprised look at Mordo.
She knew her eldest disciple far too well.
He was honest on the surface, but bone-deep he was wildly arrogant. For him to admit with his own mouth that someone was a monster was as rare as phoenix feathers and unicorn horns.
"Would you like to strike up an acquaintance?"
Mordo pressed while the iron was hot, impatiently wanting to throw away this hot potato.
The Ancient One put down the teacup and nodded slightly. "Very well, tomorrow afternoon, have him meet me in Midgard."
The afternoon sunlight was just right.
Raine walked through the quaint corridors and, following Mordo's instructions, arrived alone at Midgard.
About to meet the living legend of Kamar-Taj, Raine took a deep breath.
The Sorcerer Supreme, The Ancient One.
The absolute guardian of Earth.
Not only was her mastery of magic unfathomable, but even her vision and perspective far surpassed ordinary people.
He pushed open the wooden door.
A faint scent of tea drifted through Midgard.
A bald woman wearing a plain white robe was sitting on a straw cushion, leisurely brewing tea.
Raine fixed his gaze on her.
The woman before him had not the slightest leakage of magic, and even the sound of her breath was barely perceptible. At a glance, she looked like an ordinary person with no cultivation whatsoever.
Yet a trace of shock flashed in the depths of Raine's eyes.
This was the absolute perfection of controlling and releasing magic! Simplicity returning to the natural state.
If his mental strength had not far surpassed those of the same rank, the moment he stepped through the door just now, he would have been utterly unable to perceive that someone was sitting here.
Raine reined in his focus, stepped forward, and bowed in a salute. "Greetings, Sorcerer Supreme."
"Sit down and have a cup of tea, make yourself at home." The Ancient One looked up, her tone gentle.
Raine complied and sat down opposite her.
The Ancient One handed over a cup of hot tea, smiling as she sized him up. "Mordo complained to me, saying that you are a genius who can empty a Master's underwear?"
"Master Mordo exaggerates. I merely spend a little more time reading books than usual," Raine responded modestly.
"No need for modesty. It is a good thing for young people to have some vigor."
The Ancient One smiled faintly. Afterwards, the topic shifted, and she began to casually toss out a few theoretical questions regarding spatial magic and Vishanti's Divine Power.
It looked like casual chatting, but it was actually a probing assessment.
Raine had long been prepared and answered fluently, even putting forward his own unique insights on certain spell architectures.
The hand holding the teacup paused, and a trace of imperceptible ripples welled up in the depths of The Ancient One's eyes.
His foundation was far too solid!
Many obscure and difficult ancient magic theories were things that even veteran sorcerers who had cultivated in Kamar-Taj for a hundred years might not be able to explain so thoroughly.
How many days had this kid been here?
"The theory is completely flawless." The Ancient One put down the teacup. "Talk is cheap without practice, show me the magic you are most adept at."
"As you command."
Raine stood up and abruptly clenched his right hand in the empty air.
"Vishanti's Holy Sword!"
Hum!
A greatsword condensed from pure platinum-hued energy materialized out of thin air.
A violent divine aura instantly filled the entire Midgard, and complex, profound magic runes swirled across the blade's surface.
The Ancient One stared at the greatsword, a hint of surprise finally flashing in her deep pupils.
What a stable spell model!
She was all too familiar with this move.
However, wanting to compress divine power to such a solid, material state was utterly impossible without several centuries of bitter cultivation.
Just how did this kid practice?
The way The Ancient One looked at Raine changed completely.
She had once used the Time Stone to observe countless kinds of futures.
In her prophecies, the future successor of Kamar-Taj was clearly a surgeon named Strange.
Yet the talent of the Raine before her simply rubbed Strange into the dirt.
Regardless of where this variable had popped out from, for Earth, it was definitely a heaven-sent blessing.
The Ancient One waved a hand, dispersing the lightsaber in midair, and nodded with satisfaction. "Your talent is rare indeed even in the thousands of years of Kamar-Taj's history."
"Starting tomorrow, follow me in cultivation. I will personally teach you."
Raine was wild with joy inside while remaining respectful on the surface. "Many thanks, Sorcerer Supreme!"
Early the next morning. The Kamar-Taj exclusive Advanced Training Ground.
Raine got up bright and early. Able to receive private tutoring personally from this big shot, he had been too excited to sleep for half the night.
Just as he pushed open the door of the training ground.
He froze. The Ancient One had actually arrived earlier than him, and was standing with her hands behind her back, admiring the magic murals on the wall.
"Sorcerer Supreme." Raine hurried forward to greet her.
"Time is precious, skip the pleasantries."
The Ancient One turned around, getting straight to the point. "Your foundation no longer needs polishing. Starting today, I will directly teach you high-tier mysteries."
"First lesson, learn the Seraphim Shield."
Raine's eyes lit up instantly.
Seraphim Shield!
This was Kamar-Taj's top-tier secret technique known as the strongest single-target defense. Later on, it could even withstand Thanos's gem blasts head-on for a couple of hits.
He had been drooling over this move for a long time.
"Watch closely and listen clearly." The Ancient One raised both hands, beginning to break down the complex magic and rune structures of the Seraphim Shield.
The very moment The Ancient One spoke.
Raine's mind erupted like a boiling pot.
Ding! The host is receiving personal instruction from the Sorcerer Supreme The Ancient One, successfully activating [Seraphim Shield]! Current skill level: Level 0. Ding! The host has entered the coverage range of the Sorcerer Supreme's [Omniscient Aura]! Comprehension temporarily breaks through the cosmic limit! [Seraphim Shield] is immersed in the supreme mysteries of the Sorcerer Supreme, entering the 'Epiphany' state! Skill rises by three consecutive levels! All magic proficiency gain efficiency receives a permanent doubled bonus!
Listening to the firecracker-like electronic sounds in his mind, Raine felt completely numb all over.
What the heck kind of god-tier treatment was this!
As long as he stood next to The Ancient One to listen to a lecture, he could trigger the Omniscient Aura?
Not only did new skills level up like a rocket, but even previous old skills all tagged along to gain levels?
No wonder The Ancient One could run amok across the multiverse.
With this strength, all those Masters of Kamar-Taj combined couldn't even compare to a single finger of hers.
Ding! [Seraphim Shield] has benefited greatly from listening to the teachings of the Sorcerer Supreme. Level increases once again to level five!
Raine took a deep breath, forcefully suppressing the wild joy at the corners of his mouth.
In less than five minutes, a top-tier defensive spell directly soared by five levels. It was simply ridiculously awesome!
"Alright."
The Ancient One put away her demonstrating hands and looked calmly at Raine.
"I have finished explaining the core of the Seraphim Shield. This spell is extremely tedious, and beginners usually need several months just to get started."
"Try condensing the rune foundation first and see to what extent you can comprehend it."
