Ch. 221Eternity Caves Instantly—No Escape for the Celestials!
Plot points
- Ren’s assault has reduced the Celestials to a tiny, battered group. Their distress signal reaches Eternity, one of the Five Great Creator Gods, and wakes him.
- Reluctantly, Eternity travels to Earth-616, suspecting the Celestials have provoked Ren. The spatial barrier around the Solar System confirms that the situation is dangerous.
- Eternity finds Ren resting and the Celestials pleading for help. He initially asks Ren to spare them, but withdraws immediately when he learns they threatened to destroy Earth.
- With Eternity gone, Ren resumes the fight, punching Judge with enough force to send shock waves across the Universe. Eternity watches from hiding and fears the Celestials will die.
Character developments and interactions
- Eternity is powerful but cautious: he feels some responsibility for his subordinates, yet prioritizes his own survival once he learns they brought the danger on themselves. He approaches Ren with exaggerated friendliness, then abandons the Celestials rather than risk confronting him.
- Ren remains controlled and matter-of-fact, but is determined to protect Earth. He would have honored a personal favor to Eternity had the Celestials’ offense been minor; their threat against Earth removes any reason to spare them.
- The Celestials, especially Judge, are shown as helpless and dependent on their superior. Their relief at Eternity’s arrival turns to despair when he scolds them and disappears.
Significant themes
- Actions have consequences: the Celestials’ threat against Earth makes their predicament their own responsibility.
- Power does not guarantee loyalty or courage: Eternity is a Creator God, yet flees rather than defend subordinates who acted recklessly.
- Earth’s protection and personal obligation: Ren balances his duty to Earth against gratitude toward Eternity, but the threat to his home takes precedence.
