In One Piece: I Can Copy Any Talent. Author: Flagwood Card Things
Synopsis: Noil was transported to the world of One Piece, adopted by Bellemere, and became Nami's older brother!
After awakening the Talent Copy System, he could copy any aspect of anyone's talent!
What would it be like for Noil to have Shanks's talent for Haki, Kaido's physical gifts, and Hawk-Eyes's talent for swordsmanship?
Even Devil Fruit abilities could be treated as talents and copied by the system!
Years later, armed with talents that surpassed everyone else's, Noil turned the seas upside down.
(A slow-burn story. Growth is gradual at first; after that, anything goes.)
Born on a Battlefield?
The Oykot Kingdom was an Affiliated Nation of the World Government, but it was a small, remote country.
That once peaceful land was now strewn with corpses as cannon fire raged.
Ever since the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, had spoken those tempting words on the Execution Platform, the dangerous Great Pirate Era had begun!
Countless ruthless people had taken to the seas in search of One Piece, wreaking havoc wherever they went and swelling the ranks of vicious pirates.
In recent years, the Oykot Kingdom had frequently suffered pirate raids and slaughter.
One small village in the kingdom had been reduced to ruins by a pirate raid.
Just then, a tiny figure emerged and stumbled through the wreckage, searching.
He was a little boy with a soot-blackened face and clothes so ragged he looked like a young beggar.
Noil's face was full of confusion.
I actually crossed into the world of One Piece?
Noil was not from this world. He came from a mysterious country on Earth.
Only a few hours earlier, Noil had been an ordinary university student. Heaven knew how, but he had ended up in the world of One Piece.
"I was just looking at some study materials in the middle of the night! Did you really have to electrocute me?" Noil shouted furiously at the sky.
And if you had to send me to another world, couldn't you have picked a nicer one?
Why send me somewhere the whole world could come crashing down at any moment?
Noil sat on the ruins with his knees hugged to his chest. His tiny figure looked lonely, helpless, and pitiful.
Feeling something cool against his neck, Noil tugged up the tag hanging there and examined it.
It was the only thing he had on him when he arrived in this world. Besides his birthday, his full name was scrawled across it.
Kielros D. Noir.
D!
Noil's attention went straight to that flashy, mysterious letter.
The moment he saw the D, he thought of the legends about the D. Clan in the Original Story.
After all, people with a D in their names really were formidable.
Luffy, Ace, Roger, Garp, and the rest.
"But even with a D in my name, there's no way I can grow strong right now!"
"This body is only three years old..."
After venting, he flailed his short, chubby arms.
He might have been only three, but at least he clearly had a stronger build than most children. He was already approaching 1.2 meters tall.
In his previous life, Noil would have assumed a child that size had been given growth hormones. In this world, he felt it was nowhere near enough.
There were plenty of seven- and eight-year-olds here with monstrous physiques.
Just then, a voice suddenly sounded in Noil's head.
Ding! System loading complete!
Talent Copy System activated!
Noil froze, then burst with delight!
A cheat! It's my cheat! The system showed up after all!
He had read so many novels. Of course he knew what a system was!
Reaching the peak of life, marrying a beautiful, rich woman, punching the Four Emperors and kicking Admirals around—it all suddenly seemed within reach!
"System! Tell me what you do!" Noil said excitedly.
"This is the Talent Copy System. It can copy and grant the special talents of anyone in this world."
"Special talents? Why does that sound... kind of weak?" Noil said, a little disappointed.
Still, a cheat was better than no cheat.
Then Noil asked, "What talents do I have right now?"
"Talent list opened. Please examine it, host."
A translucent screen suddenly appeared before Noil. It was divided into seven columns. The first glowed purple and displayed several lines of text:
Otherworldly Guest: Purple quality. Cannot be removed. A boy from another world who knows the stories of, and information about, many important figures in this world, as though he were God. His otherworldly aura grants him a starting charm of 80, which automatically increases by one each year until it reaches the maximum and will not decline due to age or other external factors.
What the heck is this?
"System, what's purple quality? Are there higher qualities?" Noil asked.
"Talents in this world have five quality levels. From worst to best, they are white, blue, purple, red, and gold. The talent the host was born with is purple quality."
Noil nodded in understanding. Still, that Purple Talent had absolutely nothing to do with combat strength...
But at least there was an upside.
Noil now knew he would grow up handsome.
"Additionally, the host can possess a maximum of seven talents. Acquiring more requires replacing an existing talent."
"When the host becomes involved with an important figure or plotline in this world, the system will issue a Copy Card as a reward. Cards come in five colors, each able to copy another person's talent of the corresponding quality."
"The system will also issue various supplementary rewards related to people and plotlines."
That sounds...
This system might be all right?
"But what's this charm score of 80? How do I check it, System?"
"Opening the host's personal status panel..."
Host: Kielros D. Noir
Ability scores:
Charm: 80 (maximum 100)
Physique: 80 (maximum 999)
Talents possessed: Otherworldly Guest
???
That's it?
Isn't this status panel a little slapdash? There are only two ability scores!
The system's voice helpfully sounded again. "As the host learns new abilities, the system will update the data in real time."
Noil sighed. So you're saying I can't do anything yet?
Well, the system had him there.
"Oh, right! What about my beginner's gift pack?" Noil suddenly remembered and slapped his thigh.
He had a cheat and had arrived in another world. Surely there had to be some kind of beginner's bonus?
"System, where's my beginner's gift pack?" Noil asked expectantly.
After a moment of silence, the system responded:
"Congratulations, host. You have received the beginner's gift pack: the white-quality talent Stamina Boost."
"Stamina Boost: White quality. Your energy has increased, granting you surprising stamina and endurance even as a child."
Noil's eyes widened as he waited for more, but...
That was it.
The whole beginner's gift pack was one white-quality talent? What a lousy system!
Stamina Boost? I've got more energy than you think!
Never satisfied, Noil stamped his feet in frustration.
If the system had possessed thoughts, it would have wanted to cry.
System: There wasn't supposed to be any beginner's reward at all! Do you know how hard it was to squeeze out even that much?
Noil had been at it for a while now. With the body of a three-year-old, he soon felt hungry.
I need to find something to eat.
Noil rubbed his stomach, stood up, and continued searching the ruins, hoping to find supplies.
What Noil did not know was that, not far away, a pair of bright eyes watched him warily.
Followed by a Little Girl
Naturally, Noil had not noticed anyone watching him from nearby.
The owner of those eyes had short purple hair. Her tiny body looked as though a gust of wind could blow her away, and she seemed about Noil's age.
In her arms, she held another little girl who looked barely a year old, with little tufts of orange hair on her head.
The younger girl's face was dirty, and she looked pitiful. She tugged at her big sister's arm and spoke in a babyish voice. "Big sister... I'm so hungry..."
Big Sister frowned at that. Watching Noil walk farther away, she gritted her teeth and said softly, "Be good and stay quiet, okay? We'll follow him."
The two tiny children then tiptoed after Noil.
After walking for some time, the oblivious Noil finally sensed that something was off.
Why does it feel like a couple of little troublemakers are closing in on me?
Noil frowned warily, slowed his steps, and suddenly spun around!
Huh?
There was nothing there. But behind a ruined wall, a tuft of purple hair and a tuft of orange hair stuck out in plain sight...
Noil raised an eyebrow and pretended not to notice. He kept walking as though nothing had happened, then abruptly turned back after just two steps!
Uh...
Two little heads of short hair peeked out like wildflowers. From a distance, they looked like a pair of tiny mushrooms.
Noil nearly laughed. Wanting to tease them a little more, he turned away, took one step, then whipped around again with a flourish.
And then...
A one-year-old child popped out right before his eyes.
Big Sister had just stepped out when she saw Noil staring at them. She hurriedly pulled the little girl back.
Noil chuckled and called to the two girls behind the wall, "Come on out. I saw you!"
Both little bodies trembled. Then they slowly emerged from behind the wall.
Two girls, one older and one younger? Were they orphans from the fighting?
