"Elementalizing was useless against him, and for the first time in my life, I was completely crushed."
"Furious, I unleashed my ultimate move. It did nothing. He wiped the floor with me, then planted a 'bomb' in my head."
"Finally, he forced himself in—no, I mean he forced me to leave. I was terrified. The brute could beat me up whenever he wanted."
"But today, I realized just how wrong I was!"
"As the sun rose, the first thing he said to me was, 'Strike me!' The second was, 'Come on, hit me with your lightning!'"
"He turned my whole world upside down. Was the man insane? I tested him with a ten-million-volt Raigo, and he didn't even dodge. He took it on the head!"
"Ten million volts! That could probably kill a sea beast! But that guy took it with his head! Was he an idiot?"
"I was stunned!"
"I'd lost to an idiot!"
"As a god, my face burned with shame. How had I lost to him?"
Bathed in lightning, Dongze paid no attention to Enel's reaction. A tingling rush ran from the top of his head to the soles of his feet, making him shudder. Good grief, he had almost climaxed on the spot. (This scene is entirely fictional. Do not imitate it.)
He glanced at the Thunderclap Sword Intent entry on his panel. Nothing had changed. His face darkened, and he gritted his teeth before speaking to Enel again.
"Again! More power this time!"
A strange look flashed through Enel's eyes as he watched Dongze stand in the sky by some unknown means. Inside, he felt as though he had taken a hit of something and started floating.
He had never heard a request like that in his life!
Someone was asking to be attacked—and without holding back.
The man was a stationary target who had beaten him up earlier, and now he stood there asking Enel to strike him.
It felt like the man who had murdered Enel's father was standing before him, saying, "Come on! I won't fight back!"
"Eighty million volts: Thunder Dragon!"
A snarling Thunder Dragon suddenly appeared in midair and lunged at Dongze with earth-shattering force.
Even the air shook. Enel had clearly outdone himself with this attack.
There was no damn way that Thunder Dragon was only eighty million volts.
It might even have exceeded a hundred million volts. Put simply, he had overloaded it.
Dongze's eyes changed at the sight of the ferocious Thunder Dragon. Feeling the terrifying pressure around him, he couldn't help glancing at Enel.
You call that eighty million volts? Fuck, if I hadn't seen 200 Million Volts: Amaru, I might've believed you.
Dongze flashed aside at a speed Enel couldn't comprehend, dodging the Thunder Dragon. Enel stared in a daze.
He had to revise his estimate of Dongze's speed.
"Boss?"
"Are you trying to kill me?"
"Yes—no! I mean, didn't you ask me to increase the power?"
Dongze's eye twitched. "I meant gradually. A little at a time. Surely you understood that? Was that gradual? You multiplied it by more than ten! And you had the nerve to call that Thunder Dragon eighty million volts? If it didn't exceed a hundred million, I'll stand on my head and shit!"
Dongze had seen straight through him. Enel felt awkward, and his face reddened.
"Heh! That was an accident. I'll watch the voltage next time!"
"Next time? If there's a next time, I'll give you a personal lesson in why bruises turn red!"
As he spoke, Dongze caught Enel off guard and slammed a fist coated in Ryuo-level Armament Haki into his head.
Enel's vision went black. The blow scattered him into lightning, and it took him a long while to reform.
When he finally did, Enel's composure broke all over again. "You bastard! What was that for?" he shouted.
His voice was thick with humiliation and nearly cracked from the force of it.
"That was the Fist of Love. Don't ask why. I've been on the receiving end too!"
In the cabin, Robin recalled what had happened the night before. Her face was as red as a monkey's backside, and her legs were still weak.
Then uncertainty crept across her face. Dongze had done more than a few naughty things last night.
He had also said some things unrelated to that.
Things that had sent chills down her spine.
As she thought of Dongze and those words so closely tied to her fate, her gaze grew complicated.
"Perhaps it's time to make a choice."
Outside the cabin, Enel was much more obedient now. Still, he put as much force as he could into every attack, as though he could reduce the Blue Sea man before him to ash.
"Twenty million volts: Discharge!"
"Thirty million volts: Lightning Bird!"
"Forty million volts: Discharge!"
Dongze, meanwhile, looked grim. Lightning was among nature's most powerful forces, and its destructive power needed no explanation.
With Haki to shield him, he could withstand a few hits at ten or twenty million volts. Beyond that, he began to feel the strain.
Haki could strengthen his defenses, but not without limit. Otherwise, no one in the New World would need to compete at anything else. They could just keep improving their Haki until they were invincible.
Unfortunately, Armament Haki did not make anyone invincible. Once an attack exceeded what it could withstand, he would still get hurt.
His Armament Haki proficiency had already passed 550,000, and his Observation Haki had reached 540,000.
He had even unlocked Ryuo and the Voice of All Things.
Even so, he estimated his current limit was around a hundred million volts.
If Thunderclap Sword Intent still refused to unlock after all this, it would be a cruel joke.
When Enel's discharge reached sixty million volts, Dongze fixed his eyes on the panel. His calm heart suddenly tightened.
"Seventy million volts: Discharge!"
A shifting glow now shimmered over Dongze's body.
He had activated Ryuo, coating his skin in a thin layer of Haki.
Dongze touched his body, gauging the strength of his Haki, and sighed inwardly.
Sure enough, the order of strengthening made a difference. The Haki on my hands might withstand an attack of a hundred and fifty million volts.
An idea suddenly crossed his mind. If he fused the Iron Head Skill first, that might not be bad. Wouldn't it improve his chances of unlocking Thunderclap Sword Intent?
"Damn. That old man's tricks run deep!"
I Lost to an Idiot ### "Come on!"
"Hit me with lightning!"
"My name is Enel. I ate the Rumble-Rumble Fruit. I used to live on Sky Island as a god, free to do as I pleased. Life was great—until a Blue Sea man beat me up yesterday!"
"Elementalizing was useless against him, and for the first time in my life, I was completely crushed."
"Furious, I unleashed my ultimate move. It did nothing. He wiped the floor with me, then planted a 'bomb' in my head."
