Background and History

Yermak's crew joined the Kraus, Blood Scythe, and Francis Pirates in an alliance against the New World's dominant pirate crews. At an alliance meeting, he opposed Blood Scythe Lakeham's proposal to attack one of those powers, arguing that all four crews together could barely hold their position. Lakeham nevertheless maneuvered Yermak and Francis into confronting Big Mom while he fought Katakuri 27 37 38.

Big Mom's lightning-and-fire attack nearly killed Yermak and Francis. Kuzan's arrival gave them an opening to flee, but Commodore Atlas intercepted them near the edge of Totto Land's waters. Francis walked toward the Marines unopposed, revealing to Yermak that he was a mole and that the conflict had been part of Sengoku's strategy 39.

Yermak fought Atlas with his Cloud-Cloud Fruit and Haki. Already worn down by Big Mom, he lost the use of his left arm to Atlas's Starfall attack and tried to escape. Atlas cut through his cloud spear, briefly stunned him with Conqueror's Haki, and beheaded him. Big Mom was especially angered when she learned of his death 39 40.

Appearance

Personality

Yermak is cautious about the alliance's chances against stronger crews, but proud enough to fight Atlas rather than surrender immediately. He initially dismisses her because she is a commodore, then boasts about his fruit's defenses even as she tests them. Once he recognizes that he cannot win, he attempts to flee 37 39 40.

Cloud-Cloud Fruit

Yermak is a Logia user who can turn his body into cloud-mist and produce or shape clouds. He uses the ability to evade an explosive blast and create a platform that lifts him above the sea 39.
