Manboshi and the others shook their heads helplessly. After being targeted for so long, Shirahoshi had grown increasingly timid.
They had only just managed to persuade her to come out, yet now she was backing away again.
Fukaboshi's expression turned fierce, and he clenched his fists. "It's all that damned bastard's fault—Vander Decken IX!"
Manboshi waved his weapon and said through gritted teeth, "It's time we did everything we could to get rid of him!"
Ryuboshi, the most mild-tempered of the three brothers, did his best to calm the other two.
"Brothers, Captain Chris is our honored guest now. Getting rid of Vander Decken IX is only a matter of time!"
"Don't be so impatient. Our priority is finding a way to bring Shirahoshi to the banquet. Captain Chris and his crew are still waiting!"
After hearing this, Fukaboshi slowly lowered his weapon and regained his composure.
"You're right. Introducing Shirahoshi to her Guide is what matters most."
The three brothers entered Hard-Shell Tower together and found Shirahoshi on her bed, wrapped tightly in her little blanket.
Megalo stayed meekly by her side.
Ryuboshi reached out and stroked Shirahoshi's hair affectionately. "Shirahoshi, don't you trust your brothers?"
"That's right. We really aren't lying to you. Our guest has incredible abilities. He'll definitely be able to help you!"
Manboshi joined Ryuboshi in doing his best to reassure her.
Beside them, Megalo gently nudged Shirahoshi's arm with his head, his eyes full of sincerity.
Fukaboshi suddenly stepped forward, then took a newspaper from inside his clothes and handed it to Shirahoshi.
"Shirahoshi, do you know who our guest is today? It's him—Lord Chris!"
Tears still pattering down, Shirahoshi raised her head and accepted the newspaper in surprise.
