"What monsters? Gotham City has all these urban legends, and I've never seen a real one." Guinness laughed and revved his engine a few times. "If you're scared, just admit defeat. No need to make excuses."

Several motorcycles roared off toward a rather desolate area.

"What's all that racket? Some people are trying to sleep!" a young-sounding voice shouted at the riders.

"Well, well, where'd this little brat come from? Got some spirit, huh!" Guinness only grew more excited. He revved hard, making his engine and exhaust thunder.

"There's a church here, too? Let's give the nuns inside something to listen to!" The other riders also revved hard, making a tremendous racket.

"Nuns, huh?" The same voice came from above them. A roiling black cloud formed a terrifying face,

then sent a bolt of lightning crashing down.

The smell of burnt flesh drifted through the air. All of them had been knocked unconscious by the strike.

"Didn't think anyone still dared come here to blast their engines." Jason landed on the ground and called an ambulance for them.

The Street Racers' hideout, Gotham City's East End.

"When will your boss get here?" Batman asked.

"I-I-I really don't know!" Brian trembled. "He went off to race someone. He usually takes a while to come back."

"Where is he racing?" Batman continued.

"I know even less about that—"

"You don't know this, you don't know that. Hmm?"

"Uh!" Brian shook like a leaf, unable to get another word out.

"Is Batman really that scary?" Roland listened against the safe while turning its combination dial. "I think he's all right."
