A few minutes earlier.
"Li, did you just go out on a call?"
"Oh, Commissioner Gordon. I just handled a very... very strange case."
"What kind of strange case?" Commissioner Gordon took out his cigarettes and offered Sergeant Li one.
"If I had to classify it, I'd call it a romantic dispute..." Sergeant Li lit his cigarette, his expression peculiar.
"A romantic dispute? But I saw you take quite a few weapons to the evidence room," Commissioner Gordon asked in confusion. "What happened?"
"It's a genuinely weird story. A girl with a smoking-hot body took a liking to a priest, but the priest turned her down, possibly because of his position." Sergeant Li took a deep drag, looking as though his entire worldview had been shaken. "Then the girl brought a dozen or so relatives to corner him, but the priest took them all down by himself."
"Seriously?" Gordon felt as though he were listening to a tall tale. "That priest must be pretty devout, not giving in to that."
"Tell me about it. I've also heard he's a very devout believer who often helps homeless children. You don't see many good people like that in Gotham."
"True..." Gordon nodded, then suddenly sensed something was off. "Wait, what's this priest's name?"
"Uh... Father Roland, I think."
"This is bad!" Gordon was startled. "Something's wrong here. Where is he? Take me to him, now!"
"What do you mean, wrong?" Gordon's reaction gave Sergeant Li a fright.
"Damn it, other men might see a beautiful woman and wonder whether they should sleep with her, but that bastard Roland would fling his underwear in her face at the first opportunity! Something's seriously wrong!" Gordon said impatiently. "Take me to Roland!"
"Oh... okay." Sergeant Li nodded and led Gordon toward the Dark Room.
